Story
Meet Dory A Sweet Survivor Looking for Her Fresh Start Hi, I’m Dory — a 2 to 3-year-old, 15-pound pup with a soft heart and a gentle spirit. I was rescued by The Sato Project from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where I lived in a home with over 30 other dogs. It was a tough start to life, but I’m finally safe, healthy, and beginning to discover what love and kindness feel like. When I was rescued, my skin was in rough shape, but I’ve been getting medical baths and special care, and I’m healing more every day. My transformation has already begun — and it’s only going to get better from here. I’ll be flying into Morristown, NJ around November 8th, and I’m hoping the next chapter of my life begins with a patient, loving family who understands that I may be a little timid at first. Because of my past, I’ll need a calm, understanding home that will give me time to feel safe and secure. With gentle guidance, I’ll show you just how sweet and loyal I can be. A quiet environment — maybe with another kind dog to help me build confidence — would be a perfect match. If you're looking for a dog who truly deserves a second chance and will love you with her whole heart, I'm ready. Let’s heal and grow together. Story
Meet Gabriel 5–6 years old | 12 lbs | Arriving in Morristown, NJ December 28th Say hello to Gabriel — a small pup with a big personality just waiting to come out. He was rescued by The Sato Project from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where he lived in a cramped home with more than 30 other dogs. His early life lacked stability, safety, and human kindness — but now, Gabriel has a second chance. After receiving medical care and lots of TLC, Gabriel is now healthy and preparing to fly to Morristown, NJ to find the home he’s always deserved. Gabriel is very shy and timid with new people — he’s not the type to warm up right away. But behind those cautious eyes is a spicy little spirit who’s full of personality once he starts to feel safe. He’ll need a patient, dog-savvy home where he can go at his own pace, without pressure. A quiet environment, ideally with another gentle dog, could help him feel more confident. Gabriel may not be the “instant best friend” kind of dog — but for the right person, he’ll be an incredibly rewarding companion full of charm and character. If you love the shy ones, the quirky ones, the ones who need a little extra time — Gabriel might just be your perfect match. To Adopt: Fill out an application at thesatoproject.org/applicationform. Meet Bear A Sweet, Shy Soul Ready for His Second Chance Hi, I’m Bear — a 2 to 3-year-old, 16-pound pup with a tender heart and a quiet spirit. I was rescued by The Sato Project from a devastating hoarding situation in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where I lived in a small, overcrowded home with over 30 other dogs. It was a scary, uncertain place — but now I’m safe, healing, and learning what love truly feels like. When I was first rescued, my skin was in very bad shape, but I’ve been receiving medical baths and special care, and I’m getting better every day. I may still be a little shy, but I’m also incredibly sweet, and with the right family, I know I’ll continue to bloom. I’m flying into Morristown, NJ around November 8th, and I’m dreaming of a loving, patient home that will give me the time and kindness I need to come out of my shell. A calm environment and possibly a gentle dog friend would help me feel even more secure. If you have a soft spot for shy dogs and the heart to help me feel safe and loved, I would be so grateful for the chance to become part of your family. Bear is ready to start over — with you by his side. To Adopt: Fill out an application at thesatoproject.org/applicationform. Questions?
