Mia is a 4 year-old, 13lb Shih Tzu mix with a big personality wrapped in a petite, adorable package. Shes a girly girl with a touch of sass who loves her plushy toys, going for rides, and sporting her favourite hair bows.Mia is cautious when meeting new people and may bark at first if she feels threatened, but with slow introductions and gentle patience, she warms up into a loving and loyal companion. Shes especially fond of nuzzling into your neck and giving little nose kisses once she trusts you. She has done well with kids aged 8 and 10 years old , and would do well in a home with respectful kids. She is house-trained and doing well with crate-training. She enjoys brushing sessions once she feels safe. While she may need coaxing on walks due to her skittish nature, she eventually settles in and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Mia has a medium energy level and minimal separation anxiety, making her a well-rounded companion for someone with a calm, dog-savvy lifestyle. Her ideal family will have a quiet home and plenty of patience to help her continue blossoming.Name: Mia (aka Duchess)Breed: Shih tzu mix Age: ~4 years Weight: ~13lbSex: Female, spayedColour: RedMedical: No concerns Good with men: Yes, with slow intros Good with women: Yes, with slow intros Good with kids 0-6: Unknown, but suggest no due to her being timid Good with kids 7-15: Yes, has been around kids and enjoys being around them When the dog meets new people, she: Does not want to interact at first, but warms up, Will barkGood with dogs: Yes, prefers dogs of similar size who like to play chaseGood with Cats: No, will chaseCrate training: Enters crate with coaxing, must be placed in crate, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse trained: YesResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Nervous and needs coaxing, Once she feels confident and past her skittishness she walks well, sometimes pullingEnergy level: Medium Areas to work on: Confidence building Any noted separation anxiety?MinimalBarker: Average
