Dolly was found stray by a kind citizen who is fostering her until adopted since her owners did not surface. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworms on 12/10 and has started the heartworm treatment - which is one shot of Proheart12 and 30 days of an oral antibiotic. She will be retested in 1 year (this is covered by LHS). The Proheart12 also serves as a full year of heartworm prevention - added savings to an adopter. She is 1 year old and weights 8 lbs. Here's what her foster family said: Dolly is really smart, she has learned very quickly how to walk on leash and she housebroken. She is very, very cuddle, seems very happy to sit in your lap. She hasn't been around other dogs or kids but makes no indication that she wouldn't be happy with either. Adoption fee includes her spay, rabies, microchip, boosters to date and heartworm test. Meet and greets will be scheduled with approved online adopters only and in the order in which the applications have been received. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. Meet Oso, a precious 1-2 year old, 6 pound Yorkie male being fostered in Rockwell, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Hi everyone. I'm Oso which is Bear in Spanish. I am new to UYR and am looking for my "furever" home. I might be small, but I have a big personality and lots of cuteness. My favorite activities are going on walks, playing outside in the yard, and fetching a ball. My foster mom says I have to go see the vet several times. Story
Ernie is officially available for adoption! -10yo, long haired chihuahua & 13lbs -Neutered, vax’d, chipped & hw neg -Dog, cat and people friendly -Crate and potty trained -Tripod -Sweet, loving boy -Very low energy Ernie was found as a stray in Seagoville along with his brother Bert and brought to the shelter. Ernie was chipped, but owners hung up when the shelter contacted them. Unfortunately, we realized soon after picking them up that Bert was hospice and did not have very long. Ernie has adapted well since loosing Bert. Ernie would do well in a home with other dogs, but equally happy as an only dog. He would be great for a senior (the rescue has a senior program too)! He got a dental, benign masses removed and his leg amputated and has adjusted very well! Ernie is a true couch potato & loves sleeping and lounging the entire day!
