Meet Stitch: The Chihuahua with a Heart Waiting to Trust Again Introducing Stitch, a 5-year-old Chihuahua weighing approximately 13 pounds. Stitch was recently surrendered to Chloe’s Pet Rescue after his owners were displaced. Adopted from the SPCA several years ago, Stitch likely hasn’t seen a vet since—but we’re happy to report he is heartworm negative and ready to find a home where he can finally feel safe and loved. Chihuahuas have a reputation for being a bit particular, and Stitch is no exception. He is not a dog for everyone and absolutely cannot go to a home with children. Stitch needs someone with patience and a gentle touch to help him feel comfortable and learn to trust again. We don’t know what he’s been through in the past, but we do know that with the right person, he can learn what it truly means to be loved. Meet Penny — our little Shih Tzu mix princess who’s ready to rule someone’s heart! She’s about 5 years old, weighs around 20 pounds, and has the sweetest personality. Penny’s Perks: • Kennel trained • Up to date on vaccines • Heartworm negative • Good with other dogs • Shih Tzu mix • Loves to lounge on the recliner (aka her throne ) • Sits politely while she eats or drinks • Will even hop onto a dining chair to see if she too will be served like the humans Penny truly believes she’s royalty — and honestly, she kind of is. She’s calm, adorable, and has the cutest little quirks that make her impossible not to love. She’ll be ready for adoption after her spay, hopefully next week. Butterbean is our 12-year-old Yorkie mix. This sweet boy was recently surrendered to the shelter by the only owner he’s ever known — the same person who adopted him from us as a puppy 12 years ago. Thankfully, his microchip brought him back into our care, and we were able to rescue him once again. Butterbean is as mellow and loving as they come. He did have a UTI, but he’s been on his meds and is doing much better. He’s a little “super-sized” at 18 pounds, but not overweight — just a solid little guy. He sleeps in the bed with me, knows to go outside to potty, and has only had a couple of accidents while adjusting. Butterbean does best with someone who is home quite a bit, as he forms a strong bond with his person. He will need a secure backyard, and it’s important to know that if he were to get loose, he will usually only return to the person he’s bonded with — otherwise, he may run off. For the right person, that bond is incredibly special. He still has plenty of good years ahead and so much love to give.
