****SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTER NEEDED****Sapphire was adopted from us a kitten. This January (2026) in one of the coldest days of the year, she was found at local farm where she had jumped into a bucket of water. She was brought to the shelter, not only shivering, but as her exam went on, there was so much more. She was severely dehydrated, under weight (6 lbs) and malnourished, and with a back leg limp, that was an old fracture that has long since healed. We called the person that had adopted her and they told us they had given her away, then a relative called stating they had had her, but then rehomed her last year. When asked who, they did not know, she had been given to some one who had responded to a social media post in regards to them looking to rehome her (keep in mind, we always take our animals back, no one had reached out). We ran blood work and it wasn`t great to say the least. She went into foster care to get her back on track medically. Sapphire was a loving girl from the start, taking fluids and testing like a champ. She is currently in early stages of kidney disease but her bloodwork this past month was awesome. But, this now 11 lb sweet girl needs to keep on Hill`s Science Diet K/D to keep her as healthy as she can be. We know the food is costly, but it is keeping her healthy and happy. She needs a special person to give this girl a forever home!

Story
Meet Mel, a goofy, playful senior with a BIG personality! This spry Siamese gentleman is incredibly friendly and always happy to make a new friend. And with that permanently goofy expression on his face, you can’t help but smile right back at him! Mel has two great loves in life: PLAYING and SNACKS. Give him a laser pointer or a wand toy and watch him spring into action! He absolutely loves to (somewhat slowly 😂) chase a laser pointer around, and it’s very silly to watch him hunt in slow motion. He’s got plenty of playful energy left and would love a family who will keep him entertained and give him lots of opportunities to show off his hunting skills. Then there are the treats. Oh, Mel LOVES his treats. Maybe a little too much. Mel has packed on some extra pounds, so his new family will need to be mindful of his portions and help him gradually reach a healthier weight. Luckily, Mel is already an enthusiastic player, so combining a sensible diet with plenty of interactive play should make getting fit feel more like fun than work! Most of all, Mel is just a genuinely wonderful cat. He’s friendly, playful, affectionate, and has the kind of goofy charm that makes him impossible to forget. He gets along well with other cats and would adapt well to a multi cat household. We haven’t seen him around dogs yet, but given his overall chill demeanor, a calm, cat savvy dog would probably be ok too. Mel is around 12 years old. He is up-to-date on vaccines, exams, FIV/FeLV tested (negative), flea treated, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. Apply to adopt! Information located at animaladvocates.net

Story
Meet Fozzie! This blue eyed beauty came to TCR from an overcrowded situation very thin and in need of some extra love and TLC. Initially Fozzie was very fearful but he has made tremendous progress already in foster with some time, patience, churu treats, and the companionship of other playful feline friends. Fozzie continues to open up and show parts of his sweet personality every day. He is very curious and very playful! He highly enjoys spring toys, crinkle balls, and wrestling/running around with a feline playmate. Fozzie gets along very well with other cats, especially his fellow foster mate Old Spice- they love to zoom around the room and wrestle together! He can be very "chirpy" when he is feeling playful and excited with his cat friends- it is adorable! Fozzie wants to be a lovebug but is still learning how. He loves pet and chin scritches- sometimes it feels so good he can't help but flop over onto his back. He has frequent moments where he purrs and stretches out with his eyes closed in bliss but will still startle with loud noises or quick movements (he recovers quickly). He does not enjoy being picked up. He would benefit greatly from a confident resident cat to welcome him home. He has not met a dog in foster but likely would not do well with one. Older, cat savvy children that know he needs time to adjust would be ok. Fozzie is estimated to be 3 years old. He is neutered, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Apply for this sweet boy today!

Story
Storm is a handsome, sensitive cat looking for a quiet home where he can truly relax and be himself. He's always been a timid, cautious guy, and since our son was born he's become increasingly anxious. We love him very much, but we feel he'd be happiest in an environment that's a better fit for his personality. Storm would do best as the only pet in a home without young children. Once he trusts you, he enjoys head scratches and affection on his own terms. He'll tolerate a few body pets but isn't a fan of being overhandled and will let you know when he's had enough. Because of his anxiety, Storm has occasionally urinated outside of his litter box when left alone for extended periods. We believe this is stress-related, and we're hopeful that in a calm, predictable home he will feel much more secure. We're looking for a patient, understanding person or family who appreciates shy cats and is willing to give Storm the time he needs to settle in. In return, you'll have a loyal companion.
