Story
* SPECIAL NEEDS CAT - ADOPTION OR LONG-TERM FOSTER * To say that gorgeous Eloise is a stunner would be an understatement. This young adult cat is as sweet as she is beautiful. However, she can be placed only in a very quiet home, no children, with one or two owners. Eloise was an abandoned kitten, and she is still very shy and a bit fearful. But she really wants to be around her person, as she would follow her foster mom from room to room. She will playfully bat at your leg at dinner time, and she loves to drink dripping water from a faucet and will follow you into the bathroom for this! (A kitty water fountain would be ideal for this sweetheart.) She will let her foster mom pet her, but she is still too skittish to be held for very long. Given how far she’s already come, that likely will improve with time. She will snuggle in your bed with you at night. She loves to play, (especially with her fishing pole with a tail, which will be included in her adoption), and her funny and silly antics will keep you laughing and bring much joy into your life!  Sweet Eloise has congenital kidney failure, and her new owner will have to administer to her sub-q fluids for the rest of her life. She currently only requires fluids 3X a week. She is very easy to give fluids to. While she will not let you hold her on your lap for this process, a small wire cage will come with her. Just run the cord/needle to her in the cage, close the cage door, and start the fluid drip. As long as you are standing or sitting close by the cage, she will sit quietly during the procedure, which only takes 5-7 minutes. Eloise also needs to stay on prescription kidney diet, both canned and kibble. Eloise's foster mom is willing to babysit her and give her fluids if her new person/people go on vacation on occasion.    Eloise has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and includes a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. To meet Eloise in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee helps us to find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
