Story
Benny is a two-year-old Poodle and Maltese mix who weighs 21 lbs and is looking for a fresh start. Having lived with the same family since he was a puppy, he is well-adjusted to home life and is used to sleeping soundly on his own dog bed. While Benny is a seasoned companion, his previous home was unclear about his housetraining, so his new owners should be prepared to offer a little patience and guidance as he learns the routine in a new environment. His previous owners report that he is good with other dogs and cats. If you have other dogs at home, they will need to join the meet-and-greet to ensure a good fit, and any cat-friendly homes should plan for a slow, careful introduction to set Benny up for success. He doesn't seem to enjoy the shelter life very much, so we hope someone loving and patient can adopt him and make him feel comfortable and safe. He is already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, so he is ready to head home as soon as he meets the right match. He will need to be groomed regularly, so his new home should take into account that cost before applying. Story
Knox came in to the shelter in very bad condition on the outside, but on the inside, this love-bug has a heart of gold. Even in the horrible condition of his fur, he had kisses for the staff and wanted to be held. He came in with another female who was also in bad condition. We immediately took him to the groomer and had all the hair stripped off. You can see in the "before" picture how bad he was. He and the female (Indie) seem very bonded and may be related, so we will try to adopt them together if possible. He had been seen wandering through parking lots in Stockton for a week before arriving, so we do not know where he was living before here. New owner should be prepared to work on house manners in case he hasn't had any prior training. The vet estimates he is between 1 and 3, so we settled on 2. Dog will need regular grooming in the future. $350.00 adoption will help us with the grooming, vaccinations, microchipping and neuter. Let's get this good boy a much better home.
