Story
Wonderful Mr. Watson has had a not-so-happy beginning, but we are determined to give this sweet little boy the happy ending he deserves! This poor baby was dumped out in the country in Manteca area. Thankfully, an elderly couple found him and took him in to keep him safe. When no one claimed him they later turned him over to their neighbor, who owns a grooming business. Knowing that Animal Friends Connection is the place to help him find the perfect family, this kind-hearted groomer reached out to us. Now Mr. Watson is ready for his forever home! Watson is about 1 year old and weighs 8.5 pounds. He appears to be a Silky Terrier mix and is absolutely adorable! He is currently vaccinated and microchipped and is scheduled to be neutered. Mr. Watson is a needy little lovebug who would happily be your 24/7 companion! He wants to be wherever you are and would love nothing more than to spend his days by your side. Thankfully, he is small enough to tuck into a tote or take along in a stroller for all your adventures! He would not do well in a home with Children. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys the company of other dogs, but he would also be perfectly content being your one and only love. He will need some continued house training as he settles into his new home. Watson will also need regular professional grooming to keep his beautiful coat looking and feeling its best. If you have been searching for a tiny, devoted companion who wants to be your little shadow. Mr. Watson may be the perfect boy for you! Professional grooming provided by “Allens Pet Resort”. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. Story
Jolly Pasquale Please like and share. Thank you. Represented by: KenMar Rescue Contact: info@kenmarrescue.org Pasquale is apx 4 years young. He is a Shih Tzu, low to no shedding, hypoallergenic blend. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date with all shots, dewormed, given monthly flea treatment and weighs apx 15 lbs. He is at his ideal weight and is fully grown. Pasquale is a happy and friendly pup that loves spending time with his humans. Pasquale enjoys “sniff-ari” walks, playing, and snacking on treats. He is a friend to everyone he meets (even our groomer!) and gives them doggie hugs and lots of tail wags. He is active, loves to be read to, and is quite clever at learning new things. Above all, Pasquale appreciates being held, pampered, and cuddling with his humans. Pasquale is incredibly loving and gentle, always looking for someone to snuggle up with for a nap. He is a smart pup, willing to interact for a treat and always looking for someone to take him on an adventure. Backstory: Pasquale was brought into the shelter with other siblings when his caregiver was taken to the hospital and did not return. Neighbors fed him and his pack until the shelter had enough space to take them all in. KenMar Rescue moved forward with the call for help and rescued him. Obsession: Learning about all the good things in life like basking in the summer shade, cool hikes, and yummy treats. Favorite food: Hard boiled eggs and boiled chicken Pet peeve: Hates crate enclosures. Known accomplices: The squirrels on “squirrel patrol.” Naughtiest deed: Turning his nose at broccoli in his bowl. Favorite pastime: Sunbathing at your feet. *** Pasquale additional details: The following information is the most recent update we have received from Pasquale’s foster parents. We have made this information available to help you, our adopters, learn more about Pasquale prior to inquiring about a meet & greet. Please read thoroughly before reaching out to us—this will help reduce the number of emails we receive every day and in turn, allow us to respond to the emails we do receive more quickly! Please note that a dog's behavior often varies from one environment to another, and a decompression period in a new environment can last days to months. General Personality: Pasquale is shy with new people but will usually let them pet him after sniffing. Daily Routine: 8:00am- go out for pee 8:30am- eat 9:00am- cuddles 10:00am- play! 12:00pm- snacks 2:00 nap 4:00 play 5:30- dinner 6:00pm- go out for pee 7:00pm- tv time and wind down 9:00-10:00- bed time Housebroken? Pasquale prefers grass and is given plenty of access to relieve himself outside. House Training Progress: Pasquale will let you know when he needs to go potty outside but will require some guidance on the layout of his new home’s floor plan so as to navigate how to find you and how to exit to the grass area. Behavior Around Dogs, Cats, or Kids: Pasquale is good with small, gentle dogs. Curious at first but then engages in play. He is submissive and prefers peace to confrontation. He is not the alpha of the pack. The foster home he is in does not have cats or kids. Energy Rating (1 = very high; 5 = very low): 2 Leash Walking Rating (1 = difficult; 5 = perfect): 2 Leash Behaviors: Social puppy that wants to please and smell everything, loves to explore. Needs patience, redirection and attention. Slowly learning the routine. Does the dog sleep through the night? Yes, especially if fatigued due to playtime. Prefers to sleep in an area where he can feel the presence of his humans to watch over them. Other Quirks: Pasquale likes to be at your feet when you are working from home. That’s his favorite spot. He wants to be the best helper. What makes him/her happy? Attention, food, patience, training, mental, social and physical activities. The usual stuff that makes every being happy. What makes him/her nervous or unhappy? Sleeping alone at night or missing out on a chance to go somewhere. Other Displayed Behaviors: Both new groomer and private vet gave him high marks for first visit interactions. Pasquale is a fluffy breed blend that was given a puppy cut by the groomer so as to be cool for the summer. Pasquale’s private vet gave him a clear bill of health, said he is at his ideal weight. Current Walking Device: Leash, harness and collar Currently Eating: Taste of the Wild Bison kibble with one smashed hard boiled egg and small spoonful of canned pumpkin at each meal. This is augmented randomly with boiled chicken as available. Pasquale is fed twice a day with healthy snacks in between. *** KenMar Rescue is a 501c3 charitable organization. Please consider transportation logistics to meet (and possibly adopt) your new family member. Also, if things do not work out, please bear in mind that you would be responsible to return the orphan back to us. ❤️Vet, petsitting, future medical expenses, etc., for the life of the pet will be your responsibility. As pet parents, please consider these commitments before applying. *** If you are interested in submitting an adoption application for Pasquale, please email: info@KenMarRescue.org and write “Request for Adoption Application for Pasquale,” in the subject line.
