DOB 2/24/19 Colby is a 7-year-old long-haired silky terrier mix with the sweetest soul you could ever meet. Six years ago, we rescued him from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. He was adopted into what we hoped would be his forever home, and for six years he was a beloved companion. Sadly, due to a recent divorce, his family made the decision to surrender him back to us, as neither person was able to keep him. It’s a very sad and disappointing situation — especially for a little dog who thought he had already found his happily ever after. Through it all, Colby has remained gentle, loving, and hopeful. He gets along well with dogs and cats, doesn’t shed, and truly lives for snuggling with his humans. He’s past the puppy phase but still has plenty of love and companionship to give. His favorite place is right next to you — on the couch, in a cozy chair, or curled up in bed. Colby doesn’t understand why his world changed, but he wakes up every day ready to love again. If you’re interested in adopting Colby, please submit an application to meet him. Leo is a 7 pound, 7 year old Maltese mix. Sweet and cuddly, quiet and calm. He is housebroken, good with other dogs and oh so soft! He and his brother, Max, are bonded and need to be adopted together.  Leo is up to date on his vaccines and already neutered. Niles is a one year old boy- a mix of Shih Tzu, Yorkie, Cocker Spaniel and Lhasa Apso- at least that is our best guess. Sweet and gentle and a little shy at first, once he is comfortable, he lets his puppy sillies out! He is about 18 pounds and probably just about done growing.  Good with other dogs and housebroken and crate trained.  We had to shave him down due to matting and fleas, but with his beautiful ears and big boopy nose, this boy will be gorgeous! Miriam is a 3 year old shih tzu/yorkie mix, with maybe some Cocker Spaniel and Lhasa Apso thrown in. She has been a mom a few times over and is an excellent care taker. Now it is time for her to be taken care of! We had to shave her down due to fleas and matting when she came in, but she is going to be so beautiful!  Housebroken.  While Miriam gets along with other dogs, she would do best as an only dog in the home as she hates sharing her people! Miriam has a grade 2-3 heart murmur, which the vet said to follow up in 6 months. About 13 pounds.  We have brought her up to date on vaccines and had her spayed.   Applications for Miriam are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions.  We background and vet check all applicants and are looking for stable homes.April 25, 2026, 8:59 pm
