🐾 Meet Penny Lane — A Gentle Senior with a Heart Full of Love 🐾
Penny Lane is a 12-year-old Shih Tzu/Terrier mix with the sweetest, most soulful presence. Weighing about 20 pounds, this senior girl is calm, affectionate, and deeply devoted to her people. She recently lost the only home she had known when her beloved owner passed away, and now she’s looking for a quiet, loving place to land for her golden years.
Penny is an indoor companion who does well when left alone. She’s not destructive and is generally quiet, though she may bark if she sees activity outside or if things get a little noisy around her. Penny never learned full housetraining due to years of instability in her past, but she does go outside for potty breaks and also uses a pee pad indoors, which works well for her.
One of Penny’s most endearing traits is her loyalty—she likes to choose a favorite person and stay close, following them from room to room and curling up nearby. She enjoys plush toys, sometimes carrying them around, and will occasionally engage in a gentle game of fetch.
🐶 With Other Pets:
Penny tends to ignore other dogs and cats, coexisting peacefully. She has shown mild jealousy if another pet receives attention while she’s nearby, but this has been limited to barking or growling—never aggression. She does best when her boundaries are respected and attention is shared thoughtfully.
👧 With Children:
Penny does well with older children who are calm and gentle. She is more sensitive around toddlers due to their unpredictability and will signal discomfort by moving away or growling if she feels overwhelmed. A home with adults or older kids who understand dog cues would be ideal.
