We show our dogs by appointment only, if you are interested in adopting please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org. Adoption fee for this dog is $300Ginger Snaps is a 6 year old Silky Terrier. She came to us from a commercial breeder situation. Breeder releases are often frightened of new things and need some time to fully trust people since they have lived a life in a cage or pen without a lot of interaction or human contactLuckily, we were able to get them released and into a foster home to show them plenty of TLC and allow them to begin to learn to be pampered family members.Ginger Snaps is very sweet but is still a little shy with new people. She is much more confident and comfortable when she has another dog to buddy up with.We will require Ginger Snaps be adopted into a home with another dog.Ginger Snaps will need a home in which her new owners understand that she has been through a lot and will take time to come out of her shell and learn new routines and become comfortable in a new environment. DOB: 1/11/17               Approx. Weight: 13.84 Lbs Adoption Fee: $ 250 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Leia is such a a sweet and gentle girl. She loves being with you and following you everywhere. She may be quite shy at first but once she feels at home she has a spunky side too. She hasn't really shown any interest in toys. She goes potty outside very well but still isn't fully house trained but will use potty pads. She is not skilled at going up and down stairs yet. She gets along great with her foster siblings. She would make an excellent cuddle bug.  Leia was released by a breeder.  She had a small fracture in her jaw and an abscess under a tooth when she arrived in our care.  It has been healing over the last 10 weeks and there has been progression with bone development bridging the fracture and her jaw is now strong, the abscess has also healed.  Due to the fracture Leia could not have a complete dental.  There is still a tooth that needs to be removed that was too close to the fracture and the vet didn't want to cause more damage by removing it. She suggests that in 9 months she have it re-checked and have the tooth removed. If taken to our vet to have this done Furry Kids' will cover the procedure.  Leia does not walk on a leash so she will need a secured area or fenced yard to potty. DOB: 12/5/2018                Approx. Weight: 9.44 Lbs Adoption Fee: $ 250 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Lila was released to Furry Kids' by a breeder.  She was very, very shy when she first arrived.  She has made huge strides over the past 3 months.  Lila is housebroken and crate trained.  We have recently found out that she loves children! She has a boy in her foster home that she loves to snuggle with. She doesn't walk on a leash yet so she will need a fenced yard to keep her safe. She is still coming out of her shell but enjoys the company of other little dogs as well. From her foster Mom 'Lila is a sweet curious little shitzu. She is shy and working on coming out of her shell and trying to feel like she belongs in a home! She is a princess and has only shown interest in wet food, prefers to be picked up to get on and off furniture(but one she is up with you she will cuddle all day!!) She is pretty potty trained as well as kennel trained. She is great around all sizes of dogs and cats, does not like puppies trying to play with her and gets a bit irritated they don't get her clues ,but besides that she is a really good girl that is learning the world is not as scary as she believed it to be and needs a patient family to help her blossom into the best version of herself!'
