Story
This feisty little guy is as quirky as his right ear, which almost always flops back over his scruffy head! At about 2 years old he’s full of energy and enthusiasm for life, which he displays in the rough-and-tumble manner that he learned on the streets. In his foster home he is learning to interact more appropriately with humans and canines alike, and is doing well with crate training.
Due to his energy level, Rico is best suited for an active family with a fenced yard that would provide appropriate outlets for his lively personality. Because he likes to playfully nip, he is not a good match for homes with small children. Another frisky dog to give his humans a break would be a plus, as this boy rarely stops playing!
While we aren’t sure about his breed, he has many characteristics of the Affenpinscher, particularly the “fearless, inquisitive, loyal, and entertaining big personality” typical of the breed.

They are housed either in loving foster homes or in cozy suites at our facility, complete with warm bedding, toys, food, water, and plenty of love while they wait for their forever homes.
