Story
10/24/23.Jack has little vision perception now. He's not able to keep his crate dry overnight. He may not be with us much longer. Jack came to us after being placed unsuccessfully in two homes in less than a week. We were told he's a Yorkie, but he looks more like a Silkie to us. His original family had surrendered him to a shelter, probably because they did not want to deal with a dog getting older and blind. When Jack first came, we believe he was able to see shapes, but now he acts more like his vision is totally gone. He's learned "the lay of the land" and can walk thru the house, down the hall and out to the yard, and how to find his crate a bed time. He does not like large dark dogs, and can also find the frail dogs that he wants to dominate. He walks well on a leash but here does his business in our fenced yard. If Jack is in a home with other dogs, he will need a human that can help him be nice around the other dogs and not let him be a bully. He's really a sweet boy, but he's probably taken this attitude as he lost his sight. At Christmas, he loved attention from our 3 granddaughters ages 9-11.
