Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Macy's adoption donation is $375 and she is being fostered in the Mansfield, Ohio area. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, dhlpp, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. She has also had a dental cleaning with extractions. Macy requires a home with a strong, verifiable vet history, a secure, physically fenced yard and a companion dog of similar size/energy in the home.  Macy came into rescue from a commercial breeder and like most mill dogs, she was a very shy and scared little lady. She has made incredible progress in rescue and has learned to love being outside in the yard. She has very good potty manners provided she is kept on a schedule. Macy's leash skills have improved nicely. She is still hesitant to be picked up but has improved nicely. Lots of patience is needed with her.  She loves her foster sister & camps out with her on the couch or our bed. Macy does require a companion dog as she loves to snuggle with a buddy. She loves soft toys and soft treats broken into small pieces. Macy gets along with all of our dogs. Due to Macy's neglect and lack of vet care, she should have a soft food diet because of the bone loss she experienced in her jaw.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  June 6, 2023, 5:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Eddie's adoption donation is $400 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio.  He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, dhlpp, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. Eddie has also had a dental cleaning with extractions. Eddie came into rescue initially when his owner could no longer care for him. He was adopted and returned because he does require a home with experience in handling dogs who can be reactive.    Eddie is a little dog with a huge personality. He is an active boy who loves long walks, cuddling, and your attention. He wants to be in all the action with you and will go where you do. Eddie is doing very well in his current foster home where they are helping guide him through his resource guarding and somewhat reactive behavior.  We do prefer a fenced yard since he does like to play outside but he loves to take walks as well.  Eddie can be reactive so a home with no children or cats and an adopter with verifiable experience in using positive training methods to redirect behavior as needed.  He's a great little guy but he isn't for everyone.  He will need an owner that isn't a "pushover" and understands that Eddie needs guidance and structure.  With the right environment and continued work, Eddie will continue on the path to living his best life. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Marco’s adoption donation is $475 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio.  He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  He has also had a dental cleaning. Marco does require a companion dog of similar size. We do recommend a secure, physically fenced yard but he does walk on a leash nicely. Marco came into rescue through no fault of his own when his owner could no longer care for him. He is an adorable little guy who has made incredible progress in rescue. Marco is shy and does take some time to warm up to people but loves, loves, loves other dogs and really looks to them for cues. He definitely prefers women and warms up much more quickly to them. Marco is quite the cuddle bug once he's settled in. He does well on housetraining if kept on a schedule. He is an active little guy and loves to play so an active home with a dog of similar size and energy is needed. Marco can be a nervous guy and he takes an inexpensive medication to help with digestion prior to his meals. Marco needs a patient, understanding home with another dog to help him acclimate and live his best life.
