Imagine if a tiny cloud grew legs, developed a personality, and decided its life mission was to follow you around spreading joy and looking impossibly adorable at all times. That’s Max Hoverfluff. With his ridiculously cute fluffy face, perfectly scruffy little beard, and eyes full of gentle, sweet love, he looks like a retired wizard who gave up spellcasting to specialize in cuddles instead. One look at him and you’ll immediately understand why people stop mid-sentence just to say, “OH MY GOSH, LOOK AT HIS FACE.” Fair warning: prolonged exposure may result in excessive smiling, uncontrollable baby talk, and a sudden desire to rearrange your entire life around this tiny bearded legend. He is a rescue dog and, with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Max is a bit shy at first when meeting new people and in new environments and may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’s all about affection and spoiling you with his gentle love. He truly shines as a lap dog and is happiest curled up close to his person, soaking in love and giving it right back. His energy level is beautifully balanced. Not too busy and not too sleepy, just the right amount of energy. He’s the kind of pup who fits perfectly into your routine. He enjoys getting out for walks (and walks nicely on a leash!) but is just as content relaxing at home snuggled up next to you on the couch binge-watching your favorite show or movie. He’s dog-friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced him to. He has met dogs his size and smaller and has also been around dogs twice his size! No matter the size, Max has shown himself to be a polite, gentle gentleman when meeting dogs on leash and carries that same gentleness into off-leash introductions as well. He isn’t a super playful boy most of the time, but when he does play, he has a lighthearted, bouncy play style that isn’t too physical. It’s especially adorable when he tries to invite another dog to play, he does the cutest little play bows to win them over. Max is also respectful of dogs who prefer not to play. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s perfectly fine too! He doesn’t need a canine companion to feel comfortable or fulfilled. He’s a chill little guy who doesn’t require a lot of exercise and will naturally just need a little time to acclimate to new surroundings. Max has the kind of easygoing personality that allows him to thrive in many living situations. He would do very well in an apartment or condo setting, especially with someone who enjoys daily walks and a relaxed routine. His balanced energy level and polite leash manners make him a wonderful neighbor-friendly companion. He would also be perfectly happy in a suburban home with a backyard where he could sniff around, sunbathe, and lounge after his walks. While he’d certainly enjoy outdoor access, he doesn’t rely on a yard to be happy, his happiness comes from companionship, not square footage. Meet Benji Bear — estimated 1 year old, 15.5 pounds, part Shih Tzu, part Havanese, part… gremlin? Honestly, we’re still running the DNA test for “chaotic little man with main-character energy.” Benji is special — and he knows it. He likes what Benji likes… until he doesn’t. His moods shift faster than the wind and he makes no apologies. Looking for a cuddle bug? Yeah, that’s not Benji. Looking for a tiny coworker who will sit next to you, accept respectful head pats, and roll his eyes dramatically while you rant about Carol from accounting? That’s your guy. Benji loads up in the car all by himself and rides like a champ, is great on leash, and absolutely loves to strut his stuff on walks — tiny body, big confidence. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
