Story
Ash is a sweet terrier who may be a little nervous when you first meet him, but give him some time and treats and he’ll quickly warm up! He loves going for walks, playing with toys, and showing off his “sit” for a tasty reward. Ash can be a little protective of food items, so he’ll do best with someone who can respect his boundaries and help him feel comfortable around his belongings. With patience, love, and plenty of treats, Ash is ready to become a wonderful companion!

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Fluffy #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Fluffy #2 | 4-year-old Maltese | 8 pounds of personality and opinions Fluffy is handsome 8-pound Maltese with a big personality and a very clear idea of how he likes to do things. He is house trained, knows how to use a doggie door, does well when left alone, and is a fantastic little road-trip companion. He loves walks, car rides, fetch, tug-of-war, toys, and tearing around the yard doing zoomies. He has plenty of playful energy and would love a home with a fenced yard where he can go in and out, along with daily walks and plenty of playtime. Fluffy enjoys other small and medium-sized dogs, although he can be a little opinionated when meeting new dogs or when someone is barking behind a fence. Once he gets the introductions out of the way, he generally prefers to mind his own business. He hasn't met cats yet, and he would probably do best with older children who understand that every dog has boundaries. He also seems to have a slight preference for the ladies, although he's perfectly capable of charming the right guy, too. Now, about that personality: Fluffy is not a "please pick me up and carry me around like a baby" kind of dog. He is more of a "I would like to be in the same room as you, but please respect my personal bubble" kind of guy. Unless, of course, you are offering belly rubs. This little guy loooooves belly rubs. He will literally flop onto the floor, expose his belly, and look at you like, Well? Get to work. He would probably happily let you rub his belly for hours if you have the time. He'll also gladly accept chin and head scratches when he's in the mood, but he prefers sleeping in his own bed rather than snuggling. He's still working on his manners and can get a little mouthy when he's excited, jump up for attention, or let you know with a growl that he's not interested in whatever you're trying to do. His adopters will need to respect his boundaries and continue working with him on positive, consistent training. In return, they'll get a funny, playful little companion who loves being outside, playing with his toys, and hanging out with his person. And if you're lucky, he'll even show you his adorable post-potty ritual: lots of spinning before he goes and an impressive amount of dirt-kicking afterward.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $625. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 72 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Beau and Lulu are siblings who came to us from an elderly adopter who was moving into a senior living facility which did not allow pets. They have always been extremely well cared for and loved, however were not well socialized with lots of different people. They are a bonded pair and must go to a home together. They are 100% housetrained and love to take long walks. They are good on a leash and come with a leash in which they are linked together. Beau and Lulu would love to find a home in which they are the only pets in the home. They are extremely athletic and have a prey drive with small animals. They will definitely keep the squirrels out of the yard. They are both extremely loving and love to be on your lap or next to you. They bond quickly with new people and done very well in the 2 different foster homes. The reason they would be best as the only pets is they are very protective of one another and while there have no incidents in either of the foster homes with other dogs, they are currently in a foster home with a blind reactive dog who can be aggressive when startled by another animal. The foster has always been there to de-escalate before it becomes problematic. These two would do great with an active family who has older children who understand how to treat pets. They are both very strong and could easily knock a small child over when they get excited. They are both current on all vaccinations including lepto and rabies and both have had a dental within the past year. They
