Story
Meet Livvy Breed: Maltese Sex: Female DOB: 11/18/2025 Weight: 6 Pounds Health: Healthy and thriving Livvy is a tiny little snowball of sweetness with soft eyes and a gentle spirit. At just three months old, she is still very much a baby — learning the world, discovering her confidence, and forming the bonds that will shape her entire life. She has that delicate Maltese charm — affectionate, people-focused, and happiest when she feels safe and close to her humans. Personality Livvy is cuddly, curious, and wonderfully affectionate. She loves exploring her surroundings, following you around on her tiny paws, and then climbing into your lap when she’s ready for reassurance. She thrives on connection and will likely form a deep, devoted attachment to her person. With patience and guidance, she will grow into a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Breed Info Maltese are known for their gentle, devoted personalities. They are companion dogs through and through — they do not enjoy being left alone for long periods and thrive in homes where they are included in daily life. They require regular grooming to keep their coats healthy and mat-free, and they respond beautifully to kind, consistent training. Maltese bond deeply and often choose “their person” for life. Owner Responsibilities Livvy is a baby. That means frequent potty breaks, supervision, gentle socialization, and consistent positive reinforcement training. Puppies chew, explore, and make mistakes — they require time every single day. She will also require routine grooming throughout her life. Raising Livvy means actively shaping her into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before adopting Livvy, ask yourself: Are you home enough for a young puppy? Is your housing stable and pet-approved long-term? Are you financially prepared for grooming, vet care, and emergencies? Are you ready for a 12–15 year commitment — even if you move, change jobs, or life circumstances shift? Adoption is not temporary. It is for life. Vet Care Even though Livvy is healthy, it is essential to establish care with your own veterinarian immediately after adoption. This ensures her vaccination schedule continues properly, growth is monitored, and any concerns are addressed early. A relationship with your own vet sets the foundation for lifelong health. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule The first 3 days Livvy may feel overwhelmed or unsure — everything is new. The first 3 weeks she will begin learning your routine and feeling safe. By 3 months, her trust will bloom, and her true personality will shine. Patience during this transition is critical for building lifelong confidence. Why Livvy? Livvy is not just a tiny puppy — she is a little life waiting to give her whole heart to someone. If you are ready to nurture, guide, and commit fully, she will reward you with unwavering devotion and years of soft, loyal companionship.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
Vivian ("Vivi"), a Shih Tzu or Shih Tzu mix (we think maybe with Maltese), weighing about 7lbs and about 4 years old (we are guessing.  She was found wandering the streets of Mexico, a fate totally undeserving of a sweet princess like herself whose ancestors served as companions to Chinese royalty during the Ming and Qing dynasties. How one of these royal pups found her way across the world is a mystery we’ll never solve… but what we do know is that Vivi’s story is now one of rescue, love, and second chances. After being found and brought to safety in a rural shelter, Vivi quickly charmed everyone she met. The staff fell in love with her gentle spirit and sweet nature, and she soon made her way to Brighter Days Dog Rescue, where she’s now waiting for her happily ever after. Vivi is very comfortable in crates and appears totally crate trained. In her foster home, she discovered a luxury known as "the couch" (a modern day equivalent to a royal throne), and expressed total shock and dismay that she was allowed to sit on it AND it had heated blankets waiting for her. She has decided she is never leaving "the couch."  She is especially never leaving as the couch frequently includes human cuddles and her favorite thing in the world is sitting on someone's lap, getting belly rubs, and being the cutest creature you ever did meet. She now prefers to sleep on the couch or in a dog bed to her crate.  She is learning to walk on a leash and loves exploring. Bunny sightings are her favorite (and yes, she really wants to chase them). She loves eating her breakfast and dinner and getting various snacks, including, hilariously, dog bones three times her actual size.  And she loves riding in cars. Everyone she meets is a friend and she gets along great with cats, dogs, kids, and people. She may be a tad shy meeting new friends at first, but her sweetness shines through the moment you offer her a gentle pet and kind words. Her devotion to her humans is observed by her collecting their socks for her bed when they are gone.  She is getting the hang of potty training, learning to use the bathroom outside and doing great with consistency. She is learning to play with dog toys instead of socks but still prefers socks. She is learning to be a real dog and not just a pretty face, chasing after the other dogs, getting zoomies, and doing real dog things, including an occasional bark. She still needs some work on basic behavior commands like come, sit, and down but is smart and eager to please so should be pretty straightforward to train.  She is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped ,and ready for her forever home. Her forever home will also need to plan for some regular grooming requirements but she is great about being handled and brushed. Vivi has so much love, joy, and cuddly devotion to share. All she needs now is a throne (your couch) and a heart (yours) to call home.  Vivi’s dream home has a cozy couch, patient humans, and plenty of love. She’ll thrive with someone who enjoys cuddles, gentle walks, and daily doses of her silly, affectionate charm. In return, she promises a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and love that’s fit for royalty. Story
Halo is a 4 year old, 20lb Shih Tzu.  Halo was surrendered from his owners becayse she had a lot of dogs and wanted to downsize.  Halo is the cutest little boy who is missing half his jaw, so his little tongue hangs out of his mouth all the time - it might be the cutest thing ever! Halo is the cutest little man with a big personality.  Halo loves to snuggle and hang out with his foster Momma.  He gets along with other dogs and is great on a leash.  He is pretty well trained and listens well.  Halo is also a pretty stubborn little man.   For some people this big personality is hilarous and they adore everything about him, everybody who meets him laughs at him and falls in love instantly.  He loves to cuddle and hang out and go for walks/wander around the back yard.  He is a non shedding dog so he will need someone who can get him regular grooming appointments.  If you are looking for an adorable little dog, with a tongue hanging out all the time, and a big personality Halo is your man!
