Everyone say hi to Arfie, a 7.5 year old 28 lb shih tzu boy. Yes you read that right, Arfie weighs 28 lbs and is in need of a home that will take him on walks and give him the opportunity to shed some much needed pounds---with that said this little boy is an " absolute gentleman" according to his foster mom. Arfie came to us after his elderly owner was unable to care for him longer due to her own personal issues----Arfie has come a long way from intake when he was all of 39lbs!!! He just wants to please everyone, has excellent house manners and deserves a chance at a great life in a loving home. He gets along with EVERYONE and is a soft and kind hearted soul....he has yet to meet a person he doesn't wag his little tail at and asks to say hello to. Arfie has a history of seizures and is on medication where it controlled now that he has been seen and treated for it by our veterinary team. He also is allergic to chicken and chicken by-products but is doing great on a diet of salmon and sweet potato kibble which is sold over the counter. Hello friends! My name is Toby and I’m a distinguished 10-year-old, 13lb Shih Tzu boy with excellent hair and lots of opinions. I come with luxury fluff, soulful eyes, and the quiet confidence of someone who has seen things (mostly squirrels). My hobbies include patrolling the backyard like it’s my personal kingdom, conducting detailed sniff investigations, and supervising absolutely everything my human does. Speaking of my human: I prefer to be within a 3-foot radius at all times. Five feet is negotiable. Six feet? Unacceptable. If you mysteriously disappear behind a closed door, I will file a formal (and vocal) complaint. It’s not barking — it’s passionate communication. (Translation: NO apartments or condos for me…a single family home with a yard is my dream and someone who’s home most of the time.) I get along great with other dogs. I’m friendly, polite, and drama-free. Do I chase them around the yard? No. Do I wrestle? Absolutely not. I am ten. I prefer dignified companionship. We can coexist peacefully and then cuddle like civilized creatures. I’m a perfect gentleman when it comes to potty manners and I ride like a champ in the car. As for leash walking, my foster Mom and I are trying it out. Hi there, I’m Gigi! I’m a gorgeous 8-year-old Maltese girl, and at a petite 6 pounds, I am living proof that the best things come in small packages. I ended up at a local shelter, which was quite beneath my standards if I’m being honest, but my rescue family swooped in and now I am thriving and ready to find my forever home! I am, without question, a velcro pup. Where you go, I go. What you do, I do. Are you sitting on the couch? I’m there. Are you soaking up some sunshine outside? I am RIGHT beside you, because sunshine is basically my love language. I am super sweet, incredibly loving, and I give the best kisses — freely and frequently, whether you asked for them or not. I am piddle pad trained, which makes life nice and easy, and I do great with other dogs and probably fine with older, dog-savvy kids too. I love to play and have plenty of personality packed into my tiny little self. One thing I will be upfront about — crates are not my thing. Not even a little. I will absolutely let you know how I feel about them. A crate-free home is definitely the way to my heart! Whether you’re lounging in the sun, going for a stroll, or just hanging at home, I will be your most devoted and adorable companion. Life is simply better with a Gigi in it.
