Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Esme — a precious puppy mill momma discovering the joy of being cherished Esme is a sweet puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to experience life at her own pace. After a past that didn’t always put her needs first, she’s now learning how wonderful warm blankets, gentle voices, and full tummies can be—and she’s doing a great job. This calm little lady has perfected the art of cozy naps and can usually be found snoozing in the warmest spot she can find. Esme loves treats (seriously, treats are her love language!) and has discovered that they pair quite nicely with gentle belly rubs. She does well settling into a crate, rides nicely in the car, and is slowly warming up to spending time outside, even joining the other dogs for short adventures and the occasional happy dash. Esme has a low energy level and enjoys a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. She does best when kept on a consistent routine, with the understanding that there will always be a transition period as she adjusts to a new home. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm canine companion to help guide her. As a mill momma, Esme is still learning that human touch is kind and safe. Loud noises can startle her, so a quieter home with a patient, mill-dog-experienced adopter would be ideal. She is comfortable being alone for short periods, making her a good match for someone with a relaxed or part-time schedule. Given time, patience, and lots of love, this deserving momma will continue to blossom into the sweet companion she was always meant to be. If you have a gentle heart, a warm blanket, and a little extra patience, Esme is ready to meet you. Esme’s adoption donation is $475, and she is being fostered in Cleveland area. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. She has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaningVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  July 13, 2026, 5:35 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Edwin – Your Little Shadow with a Big Heart Edwin is a sweet black Shih Tzu who’s all about the simple joys in life—cuddles, toys, and being close to his people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily follow you from room to room and soak up every bit of attention, Edwin is your guy. He has a playful side and truly enjoys the company of other dogs, especially when it’s time for a little fun. That said, he may also do well as an only dog, as long as he has opportunities for social time—whether that’s playdates or plenty of interaction with his people. Edwin’s energy level is low to moderate, making him a great fit for a home that enjoys both relaxed downtime and a bit of light play. Edwin does best in a home where he can enjoy plenty of companionship and time with his people. While he may take a little time to settle when left alone, he adjusts with routine and reassurance. He’s happiest when included in daily life and will quickly become your loyal little sidekick, always ready to be nearby and part of whatever you’re doing. He does well with other dogs, cats, and children over 8. Edwin does well with house training when kept on a consistent schedule, though he does not currently signal when he needs to go out, so his family will need to stay attentive to his routine. Edwin has a few simple daily care routines to help keep him feeling his best, including heart medication, a supplement, and eye drops. He handles his routine like a pro and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit! With a committed family to keep him on track, Edwin will continue to thrive and be the happy, loving companion he’s meant to be. His perfect home is one filled with love, cozy cuddle time, and just enough play to keep his tail wagging. If you’re ready to open your heart to a devoted little companion, Edwin is ready to give you his whole heart in return. Edwin’s adoption donation is $500, and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home—he has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Wynter is a happy little sweetheart with a big personality packed into her adorable 10-pound frame! This affectionate young girl absolutely loves being the center of attention and is always ready to soak up every bit of love, praise, and head rubs her people are willing to give. Like many puppy mill survivors, Wynter is still discovering all the wonderful parts of being a cherished family dog — and she is embracing the good life beautifully! She enjoys cozy naps in her favorite bed, tasty meals and snacks, and occasional bursts of playful zoomies around the yard. Her foster family lovingly refers to her as a “chunky monkey,” and Wynter certainly never misses an opportunity for a good snack. Wynter is a gentle, social girl who gets along very well with her foster dog siblings and would truly benefit from having a confident companion dog of similar size/energy level in her forever home to continue helping her build confidence and learn the routines of family life. She thrives with companionship and enjoys having furry friends nearby. Because Wynter loves attention and interaction, she would do best in a more active household where she has plenty of companionship, affection, and opportunities to be involved in daily life. She does have a little stubborn streak that only adds to her charm! Wynter sometimes likes to come inside on her own schedule and can occasionally hesitate when walking through open doorways. Her forever family will need patience, understanding, and a sense of humor as she continues gaining confidence and learning that the world is a safe place. Because safety is so important for puppy mill survivors, Wynter requires a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore, relax, and enjoy her outdoor adventures. Wynter’s ideal forever home will be one filled with kindness, patience, routine, activity, and lots of affection. In return, this sweet little girl will reward her family with endless love, adorable companionship, and the joy of watching her confidence continue to blossom every day. Wynter’s adoption donation is $550. She is fully vetted including spay, microchip, dental cleaning, current vaccinations, negative heartworm test, and she is current on heartworm and flea prevention. Wynter is ready to find the forever family who will show her just how wonderful life can truly be.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog.
