Due to a divorce poor Graham lost his whole family. His mom and kids had to move in with the grandparents and their dogs didn’t like Graham! Graham seems to get along well with all the other dogs in the rescue. He even likes the cats! Graham is a great family dog! He loves kids and wants nothing more to have someone to love him and make him a part of the family! Graham has been neutered, had his vaccines updated, was heartworm tested negative and has been microchipped. If you are looking to add a special boy to your family, look no further than! Graham is the boy for you!

**PLEASE READ TO THE END FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION.** If you would like to adopt, please fill out an application at www.TexasChihuahuaRescue.org. The adoption fee is $400. All dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped current on flea, tick, hw meds and dewormer. Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in Pleasanton, Texas. Additional photos and videos will be made available to approved adopters Texas adopters will be required to pick up their adopted dogs in Pleasanton. Hartley is apx 5 years young and weighs 13.5 pounds. He is a funny kid. We are assuming Jack Russell terrier mixed with Chihuahua but he takes up 85% JRT traits and 15 % chihuahua. He is very stubborn, honorary at times, and has selective hearing. He also loves to play a good game of chase when you are trying to get him inside . He does not show a huge prey drive here but he is a confident dog and very alert. Some training would do him very well. All this to be said, he is also very loving and affectionate. He is not a huge fan of someone grabbing his head /face or neck area in a quick manner. Judging by his scars on his body and his appearance when he came in and how he acted at the shelter, I am guessing that Hartley has had a very crappy life before coming to us and has possibly been abused. It is also a little hard to tell what days he is going to decide to be a Jack Russell and what days he is going to decide to be a lazy Chihuahua. Sometimes he is the most laid-back dude you have ever met. He is observant and quiet and just kind of sits around and does nothing and then other days he is on green light lol he LOVES toys and butt scratches. I would not put him with young children under the age of 10 just because of the face aversion (he has never bitten or growled) . I also do not think he would do well with very dominant dogs that test him, he has a little stubborn streak and I am not sure would back down easily. He certainly sets the tone in the play yard with the boys that he is the boss man, but he can also be very gentle and loving and has been with other dogs both at the shelter and with us here. He is not bad with dogs, I just dont think he will back down if another dog bows up on him. he was found as a stray and was probably on the streets for all of his life . Really enjoy being inside and having a bed and toys and attention and blankets, but I think he is still learning how to be a “pet “ and not a stray. He just needs a little extra TLC, someone that is dog savvy, someone that has patience and a lot of love to give and is willing to put some training into him as I think that would greatly benefit him . He needs a leader. Of you baby him he walk all over you, he is very smart and he knows the “mom voice” haha . He is a good boy, deserving of a loving family. He just needs an owner committed to him and that is familiar with his breed and won’t let him down.
