Story
Hi everybody, great to emeet you! I am Amica, and here's a bit about me:Breed: Fox Terrier/Anatolian shepherd mixAge: 10 monthsGender: femaleWeight: 27 poundsHeight: 50 cm Aren’t, I just delicious??Rescued when I was only a handful of days old:, you will not believe this story. My rescuer heard crying puppy noises near a lake outside of a major city in the Middle East. When she got closer, she noticed me in the shallow part of the lake. She wasn’t sure what to do so she called a younger boy, who was nearby to come and help save me. She wrapped me up in a bundle, and took me home and cared for me. I was crying because I was clearly separated from my mom and was hungry and wanted milk. She prepared a bottle of milk for me and nursed me back to health.https://youtube.com/shorts/w_mMimKP2Dg?si=-8Q3455GuUOwyF3Q.I have been staying with her ever since. I am very playful and I absolutely love playing with my ball toys. I have heard there is no toy shortage in Canada! Being a playful puppy, that will be heaven.I get along well with everyone, woofers, peeps, meowies, grandmas, the whole sha-bang. I don’t have much to be afraid of, but when my foster mama shows me her extended finger, that’s when I know I have done something wrong and I don’t like that! So, I'll try to be really good. I walk quite well on leash (I’ve had a lot of practice.) I also I do my business on a pee pad.My foster mom and I are having a blast together, but her landlord has been getting complaints from the neighbors and I’m going to have to leave her soon. I will miss her because after all, she is my savior, but I’m also excited about the future prospects I have in Canada.I can’t wait to meet you so you can make my dreams of being a Canadian come true! Energy level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yes, awaiting vidsCats: yesKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, awaiting vidsPrey drive: none observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors arise. Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: leash and pee padLeash training: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: partial. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I am too young yet to be spayed/neutered, but I am vaccinated and microchipped. Spay/neuter will be the responsibility of the adopter and is required for my adoption to be finalized. My adoption fee is 800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1907355##

Story
If you are looking to add a small dog with a larger than life smile and personality to your family, look NO FURTHER! Mama LoveBug is ready to come home and be your new best friend. Meet Mama Lovebug - the cutest little bug you want in your home! Have you ever heard the saying “snug as a bug in a rug?” Well that’s Mama Lovebug - in any situation! We estimate Mama to be around 1.5 years old and is a Fox Terrier & Staffordshire mix. With rescue, nothing is ever for certain or guaranteed on where our dogs come from or their breeds. She is a petite princess who weighs less than 40 lbs, perfect for any lifestyle! Whether you live in an apartment, house, or live the highway life - Mama Lovebug doesn’t mind and will sit right beside you ready for an adventure. Mama has such an inviting presence and opens right up to meeting new strangers. When introduced to other dogs she shows off her personality by displaying her terrier bounce and hip bumps to let dogs know she is the Mama of the yard. Mama LoveBug prefers to roam around the yard and “people watch” her furry friends until ready to play. She enjoys spending time with other dogs matching the same energy level, especially those who understand her dominant play style and laid back approach to life. Mama LoveBug’s love language is definitely physical touch, specifically warm loving hugs! Getting a hug from her can make any frown turn upside down. I hope you have good time management…. Her smile is so contagious and full of excitement at the possibility of you stopping to pet her, it may make you late to work! Who can say no to that face? From what we have seen with Mama she is crate trained, potty trained and has lovely house manners. She may need gentle reminders as she transitions into a new home but she is very smart and eager to please her human companion. We love the fact that she just lights up at the sight of children! She can be excited with meeting new friends of all sizes and gives a few light tail wagging bunny hops. With encouraged training at home she will get the hang of how to navigate tiny humans in a breeze. Mama Lovebug is very gentle with receiving treats and will smother you in kisses after as a big thank you! When Mama met our resident cat Tom she expressed a little too much interest in playing chase for him. She would do best in a home with dogs around her size or bigger, no small dogs or kitties please! Our favorite thing about this girl is how loving and trusting she is right off the bat, a true social butterfly waiting for her new family to scoop her up. We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Please email leah.smith@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
