This handsome boy, Popcorn, is ready to pop into your heart! Popcorn arrived at RSR after a tough start at animal control, where he was understandably withdrawn. But in just a few days in a loving foster home, he’s blossomed into the most adorable, affectionate cat you could imagine! Popcorn is a sweet, gentle soul. He's a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he's a true lovebug. He adores attention, purrs like a motorboat, and enjoys being picked up and held. Imagine the joy of having this charming furball tuck his head under your chin while making biscuits like a champ! We're still learning about Popcorn's history with kids or other animals, as he's currently enjoying his own peaceful space. However, he's been perfect with the adults in his foster home, showering them with head butts and endless cuddles. If you're looking for a companion who loves to eat, cuddle, and then cuddle some more, Popcorn is your guy! This sweet boy has come so far and deserves a forever home where he can continue to thrive. Could that be with you?

Story
Phoenix was rescued from a cat colony, and from the very beginning, it was clear he was different. Each time I visited the colony, Phoenix was alone—lying in the dirt, head hanging low, separated from the other cats. It felt as if he was quietly asking for help, whispering “I don’t want to be here anymore.” So I brought him home to give him the chance at a better life. At rescue, Phoenix weighed only 5 pounds and struggled to eat. Further testing revealed he had a blood parasite. After treatment and lots of care, Phoenix has made a full recovery and is now healthy and safe. Phoenix is still learning the ropes of indoor life, but he’s making steady progress and coming out of his shell more each day. Having a cozy hidey hut or safe space to retreat to helps him feel secure, and with time and patience, he continues to gain confidence. He’s recently discovered toys—especially mice with tails—and is having so much fun exploring this brand-new world. He’s also making up for all the affection he missed out on during the first year and a half of his life. Phoenix loves pets and attention so much that he can occasionally get a little overstimulated and gently put his teeth on you—not biting, just playful mouthing. Since he grew up in an outdoor colony, he never learned normal human-cat interaction, so because of this, Phoenix would do best in a home without small children. Phoenix gets along well with calm adult cats but does not enjoy kittens. A quieter home where he can start in a smaller space and gradually gain access to more of the house will help him adjust successfully. Recently, while his rescue mommy was on vacation, the kennel environment caused Phoenix a lot of stress, and he began to overgroom his neck area. His hair is already growing back, and with a stable, loving home, he’s expected to continue doing just fine. Phoenix has already overcome so much. What he needs now is a patient, understanding adopter who will let him continue his journey at his own pace—and show him that he’s finally safe, loved, and home.
