Story
DOB: October 12, 2017 (8 years old) Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Ragdoll / Snowshoe mix, seal point with white markings. Weight 14 lbs. Piggy is a beautiful seal point girl with the most expressive deep blue eyes you've ever seen — and a personality even more beautiful than her face. She is the textbook definition of a velcro cat: she will follow you from room to room, curl up beside you while you work, and gently headbutt your face the moment you lie down to sleep. She talks to her humans constantly, "asking" for attention with the sweetest little meows, and she absolutely thrives on being noticed and loved. Piggy is incredibly easy to live with at home. She uses her litter box reliably, isn't picky about food, and is wonderfully tolerant of handling — nail trims are no fuss at all, and she can be picked up and cuddled by anyone. She is not shy with strangers and will happily greet new people who come to visit. Her health is excellent: aside from routine annual checkups, she has never had a single medical issue in her 8 years of life. She is slightly above her ideal weight at 14 lbs and would benefit from portion-controlled feeding. Piggy would do best as the only cat in a calm, indoor-only home. She does not enjoy the company of other cats and would much rather have her humans all to herself. She would be a wonderful companion for anyone who can give her a stable, loving home — someone settled, calm, and willing to be her devoted person. A few things her new family should know, in the spirit of full transparency: - Piggy finds car rides and travel very stressful. As long as her new home is permanent and she lives as a settled indoor cat, this is never an issue at home — she is calm, content, and completely at ease in her own space. - At the vet clinic, Piggy can become defensive and reactive due to the combination of car-ride stress and the smell of other cats in the clinic environment. We strongly recommend choosing a nearby vet clinic to minimize travel time, and pre-visit gabapentin (a safe, commonly prescribed anti-anxiety medication for cats) can make vet visits much smoother. This is very manageable.- None of this travel/vet anxiety appears at home. The moment she's back in her own space, she is the same gentle, affectionate, talkative little princess she always is. We are rehoming Piggy with great love and great care. Our future involves an international career that will require frequent travel, and we have come to accept that this lifestyle is not one Piggy can adapt to — she has shown us, clearly and repeatedly, that she needs stability to be happy. She is looking for her final, forever home: someone settled in Canada long-term, ideally a local Toronto resident, who can promise her she will never have to move again. If that sounds like you, she will reward you with years of the most loyal, affectionate companionship you could ask for. An adoption fee applies that covers all of Piggy's belongings, current food, litter, and complete vet records (please email for details). Serious inquiries only. Please include in your initial message: - A brief introduction about yourself and your household - Your living situation (house/apartment, owned/rented, how long you've lived there) - Whether you have any other pets (Piggy must be the only cat) - Your experience with cats, especially with handling vet visits - Why you are interested in adopting Piggy Piggy is participating in our Courtesy Adoption Posting Program and is not the property of Toronto Cat Rescue. Toronto Cat Rescue does not accept responsibility for any pet placements that result from this service.
