Meet Cruella. This gorgeous, Snowshoe queen has quite the story. She ended up in the woods around the shelter and was very scared. Staff fed her for months trying to lure her close enough to catch her and were finally successful! Staff and volunteers have been working with her to relax into a more comfortable indoor life, but she still needs time. Cruella will require a truly patient, very dedicated, calm home environment to truly blossom into the cat she's meant to be. We recommend a home with no kids, no dogs. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Salutations! My name is Simon! I was found as a stray. I was having a hard time of it for sure. Someone was kind enough to rescue me though... WHEW! I'm a shy boy but oh, so handsome! I enjoy being petted and cuddling on my own terms and I do not prefer being held. I have a really nice foster family that has been working on making feel comfortable and safe. They say that I am an oddly lovely boy. They also think I'm hysterical because I kind of army crawl to you and then I like to back my bum into you to get pets. So, yeah, I might be oddly lovely...I'll take that. The best thing that has happened is that I met the love of my life... Blossom. She makes my heart sing and I don't want to ever be without her. She is beautiful! She is a little more outgoing than I am and would rather not be picked up. She will cuddle on her own terms too. We are two peas in a pod for sure, so don't ask to separate us. A calm home would be right up our alley with someone that will give us time to adjust because then you would become one of the luckiest people in the world! You would have us! Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer.
