Story
When a back-yard breeder threatened to shoot two older puppies he couldn't sell, rescue stepped in. But nothing prepared them for what they found: a whole family living in unfathomable filth, and a tiny, helpless 3 week old puppy left to rot. Half of Grayson’s hind leg was gone. His owner’s dismissive, cowardly excuse? "Maybe a rat chewed it off." No medical care. No comfort. Just a puppy left in agony to die. Grayson was rushed to the vet, weak and septic with a very poor prognosis. Nobody thought he’d survive the night. But this little puppy had an absurdly stubborn fire inside him. Against every odd, he pulled through surgery, survived sepsis, and fought like heck to stay here. Now at eight weeks old, Grayson is officially a PawSafe pup. He might be a fraction of the size of his 20-pound siblings—weighing in at a teeny six pounds—and he’s missing a whole back leg, but don't you dare tell him that. He is spunky, deliciously sassy, and spends every day figuring out his brand-new stride. We won't sugarcoat it: giant breeds navigating life on three legs face real physical challenges as they grow older. His future family will need to be dedicated to his mobility, joint health, and long-term care—however long his journey may be. But this boy didn't fight this hard just to come halfway. His forever humans are out there, and he is ready for them. Baby Grayson is in foster care. Fill in an application for an appointment to meet him.

Nutella **Not Available to Be Seen Until Open House on Wednesday August 26th!** 3 yrs./60 lb./Female/St. Bernard Mix Name: Nutella Age: 3 years Weight: 60 lbs Breed: Saint Bernard Mix Status: Big, beautiful, and looking for someone to lean on. About Me: Hi, I’m Nutella! I’m a 60-pound St. Bernard mix with a fluffy coat, a happy smile, and the kind of presence that makes it pretty difficult not to notice me. At 3 years old, I’m past the puppy stage and ready for the really good part—finding my person and settling into a life where I’m loved, included, and right where I belong. I’m a substantial girl, but that just means there’s more of me to love! I’m looking for someone who appreciates a big, beautiful companion and has room in their life—and probably on their couch—for a girl like me. I have a whole lot of love waiting for the family lucky enough to call me theirs. Best Qualities Sweet and lovable Big, beautiful girl Happy, expressive personality Past the puppy stage Excellent best-friend potential My Ideal Match I’m looking for someone who has always believed bigger dogs make the best company. Someone who won’t mind a little extra fluff around the house, appreciates having a substantial sidekick nearby, and wants a dog to truly share everyday life with. I don’t need anything fancy—just a place where I’m included, adored, and reminded every day that I’m home. Deal Breakers A life where I’m always watching the adventures from home A strict “no big dogs on the furniture” policy Not prepared for the realities of life with a 60-pound fluffy girl Looking for a dog to simply live around instead of making her part of the family Fun Fact: My name is Nutella, and just like the real thing, I make pretty much everything better.

Story
Turbo is an almost 6-month-old Saint Bernard/Lab mix who is already tipping the scales at 48 pounds—and he's still growing! This handsome big boy has a playful personality, a goofy charm, and a heart full of love to share. Turbo loves having fun, whether he's romping around with other dogs, playing with kids, or cooling off in a kiddie pool on hot summer days. His joyful spirit and silly antics are guaranteed to keep his family smiling. Not only is Turbo lovable, but he's also a smart pup who enjoys learning and exploring the world around him. As a young puppy, he'll continue to benefit from training and socialization, and he's eager to please the people he loves. Turbo gets along well with other dogs and children. He has not yet been exposed to cats, so proper introductions would be recommended if his future home includes feline friends. Like many puppies, Turbo can be protective of his food around other dogs and does best when fed separately. With continued training and management, this is a behavior his future family can successfully navigate. With his combination of intelligence, playful energy, and affectionate nature, Turbo is ready to become a loyal companion for a lucky family. If you're looking for a big, goofy best friend to grow up with your family, Turbo may be the perfect match! Link to adopt: https://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html
