Story
Turbo is an almost 6-month-old Saint Bernard/Lab mix who is already tipping the scales at 48 pounds—and he's still growing! This handsome big boy has a playful personality, a goofy charm, and a heart full of love to share. Turbo loves having fun, whether he's romping around with other dogs, playing with kids, or cooling off in a kiddie pool on hot summer days. His joyful spirit and silly antics are guaranteed to keep his family smiling. Not only is Turbo lovable, but he's also a smart pup who enjoys learning and exploring the world around him. As a young puppy, he'll continue to benefit from training and socialization, and he's eager to please the people he loves. Turbo gets along well with other dogs and children. He has not yet been exposed to cats, so proper introductions would be recommended if his future home includes feline friends. Like many puppies, Turbo can be protective of his food around other dogs and does best when fed separately. With continued training and management, this is a behavior his future family can successfully navigate. With his combination of intelligence, playful energy, and affectionate nature, Turbo is ready to become a loyal companion for a lucky family. If you're looking for a big, goofy best friend to grow up with your family, Turbo may be the perfect match! Link to adopt: https://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html

Story
Pugh male 12 weeks Sweet as sugar Guaranteed to make your home happier and life better 🥰 This is such a striking puppy. Those beautiful colors and markings make him absolutely adorable, and that longer fluffy fur just adds even more charm. The best part is he doesn’t let those good looks go to his head. He is incredibly sweet, gentle, and ready to find a loving family to call his own. One look into those soulful eyes and you will be hooked forever. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
This 3-year-old gentleman has learned the hard way that forever isn't always truly forever, but he refuses to give up hope! We thought we had found Apollo's forever home, but his recent family neglected to secure the doors to their home, and Apollo wound up on the front lawn. At the same time, their neighbor's 5 large dogs were off-leash in their front yard. Apollo was attacked and wound up with several puncture wounds. We are so thankful he did not lose his life, but this was clearly NOT a safe home for our boy! And so this sweet boy is now in need of a true forever home where he can be someone's one and only dog. Apollo is one of the sweetest dogs we have had in our care. He is super chill and just wants to hang out with his humans and cuddle. He enjoys spending time in the yard, and we are seeking a home for him with a physically fenced yard so he can sniff in all the good scents to his heart's content. Apollo walks well on the leash and knows his basic commands. He is not a fan of thunder, but then again, most dogs (and humans) are not. Apollo is in a wonderful foster home in AL, and his foster mom shares such lovely details about this handsome honey-boy. "Apollo has been great for us. He's a big, sweet baby who just needs some love and understanding. Apollo is very curious and may curiously dash at the cats to get a sniff, but he listens when you tell him to stop; he's very obedient!" "You can tell he just wants to be good and do right. He wants to be right where you are at all times. He's definitely not a fan of thunder, though, so if it's raining or thundering, he wants to be held, and he may not even eat til the weather passes. But he does eat very well once he's comfortable and feels safe. I think he just takes time to adjust. Overall, he is a gentle giant and would make someone a great companion!" Now, doesn't that make you want to adopt Apollo!?! We bet that if you watch Apollo's video, you will fall in love! Apollo is believed to be a St. Bernard mix, maybe with some Newfie, and he weighs about 85 lbs. Whatever breeds he may be, he is GORGEOUS with his beautiful black coat and white blaze on his chest! His paws even have some white spots on them as though Apollo stepped in some paint! Just look at how handsome Apollo is with his red bandana. He is one of the COOLEST dogs ever! Apollo is a young dog who will benefit from continued guidance in his leash skills and basic commands to help him bond with his humans and feel more confident, especially after his sad past experience. He didn't do anything wrong, but he lost his home, and he deserves to feel loved and become his best handsome, sweet self. Apollo is up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you are approved to adopt through SGRR please contact Cheryl Kewley . He will be ready to come north in mid-June to be directly adopted. Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to become an important, forever part of their life journey by continuing the rehabilitation we have begun. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to learn more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog.
