Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER:  Broccoli (Rock) is a puppy. Just an overgrown puppy. He has the curiosity and energy of a one year old. Is super friendly and lives to play. Rock has no idea how big he is and his whole focus is to run, jump and bounce around. HISTORY:                                              PERSONALITY: Rock is smart and can learn fast. He's curious and will observe calmly. He's friendly and will treat everyone as his siblings which can be unsafe at times. He's only one year old and with training and time he will outgrow this. Will play by himself and requires very little attention. He loves to cuddle up or lie by your feet and do nothing. He is food motivated (still growing so loves to eat). Rock is just a fun, goofy, bouncing, big clumsy dog. He doesn't chew or destroy anything (especially being a puppy) is surprising. Rock will carry his favorite toy around. He's curious about cats, his enthusiasm has frightened the cats, I don't think he would have hurt them, but they did not stick around to find out. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES:  Play fetch, walk, chew on a toy or just chase butterflies and bumble bees.  MEDICAL ISSUES:  None that we know of. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME:  Rock is very much a puppy with no training. He's quick to pick up things so training him is easy. He has puppy energy and is super playful. A house that has adults who are strong would be perfect for him. A Family who can take him on walks and train with him would be nice. The family should be able to handle large dogs and understand that hes a puppy, a big strong puppy.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Story
Meet Otto! Otto is a lovable Anatolian Shepherd mix around 4 years old and 72lb. This big boy is playful and energetic, making him the perfect companion for an active owner. Otto thrives on structure and is eager to learn! One of Otto’s adorable quirks is how he leans his head into your leg when he's looking for scratches. He’s always happy to be close, but even happier when he’s playing with you! Whether it’s running around the yard exploring or enjoying a scenic hike, Otto is always up for an adventure. He is potty trained and crate trained, but he could use some better leash manners. When the day's excitement comes to an end, Otto loves to curl up into a cozy ball, resembling the biggest cinnamon roll you’ve ever seen. If you’re looking for a goofy, loyal, and fun-loving companion who will keep you laughing, Otto is your guy!
