Story
Meet Obi! Obi is a Saint Bernard who was born in September of 2024. He was surrendered by his family because he does not like to share around food, and they had a small child who wasn't able to understand the boundaries he needed. He knows basic commands like sit, shake (paw) and leave it. He was mostly potty trained in his last home, but may need a refresher course as he adjusts to the new potty schedule. According to his previous family, he’s been exposed to dogs, cats and children. He does occasionally chase cats if they run but in general is very tolerant of them. He would do best in a home where he’s the only dog or would need a proper introduction to the right dog companion, and would need to be fed separately. This is mainly due to the fact that he resource guards his food, so if his owners are comfortable with managing his environment appropriately, he could do just fine. He’s moderately active. He enjoys a good zoomie around the yard followed by a bone and a nap! While he does enjoy being outside, he’s an indoorsman. He does ok on a leash but is used to having freedom in the fenced in back yard. Obi will be neutered & full vaccinated prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $200. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564 *Please email this application back to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com

Story
Meet Gloria! Gloria came to CCHS with her two siblings towards the beginning of December from a local farm. This beautiful Saint Bernard is about 4 months old and weighs roughly 37.5lbs currently. Gloria is such a big baby! She will do anything she can to crawl into your lap to snuggle in close! Our veterinary team did determine that this sweet girl will need to have her right eye removed at some point due to an injury she sustained prior to arriving to our facility, but don't worry, we assure you she'll still be just as cute as a telescope! Plus, that surgery will be provided by our surgical team at no cost to her new family! With any puppy, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. Apply for Gloria today! You can go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Thank you!

Story
Monroe is a big loving girl! She’s good with cats and certain dogs to an extent (she’s certain dog aggressive). She was raised around children and is good but with old age she’s getting a bit more temperamental and needs to be watched around younger children. Due to her expensive grooming and needing antibiotics due to infection from her hotspots I can no longer care for her efficiently. She is not leash trained well and would need a fenced in yard as she is a runner (she also does not come back easily). Spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
