Story
Meet Girlie! Her Foster Dad was on a run when he found her squatting at a vacant home in the neighborhood, and soon enough she followed him home. She's 2-3 years old and gave birth to a litter of puppies just a few months ago. Sadly, they were separated. We can assume she was bred and then abandoned since no one has raised a hand to say she's theirs. Even with her heartbreaking story, she's sweet as sugar, goofy as can be, and playful as hell once you gain her trust. ❤️ She might chase an e-bike or bark at the mailman, but she’ll walk past most people, dogs, cats, and kids just wanting to play. Beware her farts though!

Story
Polly Pocket is thee cutest 1.5 year old mini, weighing in at 35lbs. She was DNA tested by Embark, and her mixture is Staffordshire Terrier and Bulldog, hence why she’s so small! She came into the shelter as a stray, with no chip or collar and no one ever came for her. She was getting overlooked and started to develop a URI which put her on the euthanasia list. One of our long time fosters spotted Polly while at the shelter and said she was the cutest, most quiet dog, incessantly wagging her tail. She knew she couldn’t leave Polly behind! That same foster who rescued her has been her foster mom. This is her loving description of Polly: Polly is the most charming girl with the best personality and so much love to give. She is obsessed with all humans she meets - men, women, children, anyone! She gets so excited and wiggles so much when she gets your attention, along with endless kisses and cuddles. Sweet Polly needed a lot of work after coming of the shelter and hadn’t ever walked on a leash. She has the deepest eagerness to learn and please her humans. Polly is now completely potty trained, leash trained, crate trained (though she prefers to sleep with her humans in bed) and knows her basic commands. She will learn anything quickly if it means making you happy and getting treats! It was also very clear Polly had lived on the streets for sometime as she was slick at digging in the trash, can eat anything and was/is very scared of most dogs, especially big energy dogs. She fell in love with her very calm, loving foster brother Freddie and played with him most hours of the day with so much joy (who recently and very suddenly passed away — she is so sad and misses him so much). The dream is that Polly has a bigger, very calm and tolerant dog like him, but with enough people in the home to adore her, she might also enjoy being an only pup. She is it very quick, athletic and energetic dog — jokingly nicknamed “parkour pup” or a circus dog has she spins and twirls as she jumps off walls and corners of furniture while running around. She can even climb trees! She could easily have a career in agility and will do great in a home with a backyard to run off that energy. Lastly, she is an excellent alert dog to suspicious characters but otherwise doesn’t bark much. She loves chewing on her toys and will do anything to play tugowar with you. As much as she loves playing, she also loves to cuddle and nap with her humans. This girl loves nothing more than sitting in front of a space heater on a cold night and getting as hot as possible while nodding off, while sitting up. She has met cats and is indifferent to them. She cannot contain herself when she sees children and wants to greet and lick them but because of her very high energy, jumpy nature, we don’t think she should be with any kids younger than 12. We are requiring a family or individual who has lots of time to give her, will create a wonderful, consistent structure and give her all the love and attention.

Story
Mouch was found in an extreme cruelty situation in downtown LA. Since being fostered I have had all his shots up to date, he is now neutered and in very good health. He is probably around 2 years old, highly playful and extremely affectionate. He has been at a training for the last 3 weeks and is very intelligent and learning well. He loves to be with his human and loves to play ball and tug of war. He loves to explore in the bushes and was delighted to discover grass which he loves. He is not a fussy eater. He has gotten used to being treated with love and a warm bed and food and is not fearful at all anymore. Areal joy to have around!
