Story
Mister Santiago is a marvelously happy Staffordshire Terrier. He is extremely people oriented and aims to please. He responds well to Sit, Paw, Down and Roll Over for much adored belly scratches. Mister Santiago is most agreeable on a leash and gets along with other large dogs. Since being pulled out of the shelter mid-year last, he has only been exposed to other large dogs so we have no information on how he might get on with smaller dogs, cats or children. He would probably do well but 65 pounds needs to be considered while knowing he is super gentle to play with and walk. Mister Santiago is currently at a marvelous dog training/shelter-rescue facility in Grass Valley CA, where he runs free, playing with other dogs and learning good manners in anticipation of finding a forever loving home. Please reach out for information about his history and rescue. Videos are available. Thank you for reading about this special fellow.

Story
Daisy is a sweet and loving 7-year-old incredibly affectionate dog with a playful spirit. She has a remarkable ability to transition from high-energy playtime to a cozy nap in the blink of an eye. Her affinity for children is particularly noteworthy, as she is amazing with our 1 and 3-year-old kids. Daisy is a ball-driven girl who thrives on outdoor adventures. Whether it's a trip to the dog park, a hike, or a simple walk, she loves being active, especially when someone is by her side. Her excellent off-leash behavior and reliable recall make her a joy to take. While Daisy gets along wonderfully with male dogs and has lived with indoor cats, she cannot be in a home with female dogs due to ongoing conflicts. Daisy has undergone significant training. Her new owner must be willing to continue reinforcing the boundaries and rules she has learned. She is not destructive and is fully house-trained, making her a great low-maintenance companion.

Story
This is Xavier. His owner passed away and was left on the property on his own. The stepson that had lived with the owner didn’t want him and had moved out. My friend who had known the owner was notified by neighbors that Xavier was still in the backyard. We couldn’t stand by and do nothing. My friends didn’t have the space for him so I decided to foster him until we find him a permanent home. Xavier is absolutely lovable. His favorite toy is his stuffed moose, and he also likes his tennis ball. He loves to play fetch. But he loves the couch and cuddling with his moose even more. I have a toddler and a very young baby and he is so gentle and loves them. He loves people. He’s also so obedient. When I call for him he comes he knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and go to bed. He patiently let me know when he needs to potty. He would sit by the backyard door and wait, and if no one is around to see him there, he barks once just to get your attention. So proper. He loves walks, of course.

Story
Sasha is a spunky girl full of life who just wants to enjoy every moment with you. Sasha loves to play and explore and is incredibly confident. She is looking for an active home to play with her multiple times per day. Sasha is an excellent candidate to learn agility as she has incredible confidence and will jump up onto surfaces far above her head if there is only the faintest hope of a food reward. Sasha loves to play with all kinds of toys. She especially loves to rip up stuffed squeaky toys, but she also really loves a nice peanut butter-filled Kong. Sasha loves to run around the yard and will come in like a bat out of hell to jump on you when she gets super excited. When meeting new people, Sasha is the happiest, wiggliest little pibble you have ever seen. She simply cannot get enough booty scratches in with new friends. She also loves belly rubs when the mood hits her just right. Other times she makes the most adorable noises rubbing her back on the ground and grumbling from the satisfaction of it. Sasha would do best as an only dog, but has made other dog friends with slow introductions. She loves to play with a senior male also in foster care with her, but her play tends to be a bit rough for his age. Her play style is very centered around wrestling. When Sasha first sees another dog, she can be reactive and will bark loudly at them. Sasha is not currently recommended to live with cats due to prey drive. Sasha loves any and all people, but she can be a bit of a wreck-it Ralph when running around hopped up on life, so very small children are not recommended as she would likely knock them down despite her petite size. Sasha knows sit, down, look, and paw. She is crate-trained and house-trained. Sasha is incredibly food motivated and will do just about anything for even the tiniest bit of kibble. Sasha is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Sasha to see if she is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application. www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.
