Story
Princess was once somebody's baby — and it shows! She's been called a `sweetheart` by everyone who meets her. This chill girl is happiest taking in fresh air, soaking up cuddles, and just being near her person. She generally walks well on a loose leash, but sometimes she wants to go one way and her walker does not. While her little legs are strong, we are working on her staying focused on her person. She seems to get along well with other dogs —happily racing back and forth with her shelter neighbor in the play yard (see photo). She recently impressed a volunteer on a day trip:- Jumping into the car on her own- Cruising through a Starbucks drive-thru and accepting her pup cup with the gentlest mouth. - She explored a nearby trail and was a wonderful walking companion the whole time. Safe to say she's road-trip ready!Princess deserves a soft place to land — a couch to curl up on, a person to adore, and a life full of the love she so clearly has to give. Could that be with you?Make an appointment to meet Princess at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.orgJune 11, 2026, 9:06 pm

Story
I rescued Layla in August 2025. I paid to spay, microchip and vaccinated her. I rescued her from living in a car with an unstable person. she's about 15 months of age. she was born blind in her right eye, but shows no signs of it slowing her down. she is a sweet bundle of energy, more than I can handle. she would love to have another dog to play with. I walk her 2 times a day but she has to stay on a leash because I live in a mobile home park and this is no life for her. I would love to see her have a yard to run freely. I love her to pieces but I'm too old and unhealthy to give her what she deserves. she's an excellent runner and can corner like crazy. I could see her an obstacle course champion! she loves everyone and everything and wants to please every minute. thank you to anyone who can give her the love, time and patience she needs. she will make anyone happy for life.

Story
Lassen is a loving girl who is the life of the party! Lassen is estimated to be around 3 months old and is a bubbly and playful little girl. She is an active girl who is always down for some fun. She loves adventure and making new friends along the way. Lassen currently weighs about 15lbs and we estimate she will be around 60lbs when fully grown. Lassen is part of our National Park Puppies. She and her siblings came into an overcrowded Central California animal shelter with their mom while they were still nursing. After a month under the shelter's care, they were at risk of euthanasia, simply due to a lack of space. We were so grateful to be able to save all the puppies and their mom (adoptable Sienna). They are all thriving in foster care and are looking for individual homes so that they can get the one-on-one training they need. Their mom looks to be an Australian shepherd/German shepherd mix and weighs about 45lbs. We don't know who their dad is, but we guess that he is a staffie mix based on what the puppies look like. Lassen is the loveable teddy bear of the group. She is equal parts adventurous and affectionate, and who can't wait to be your new sidekick for whatever the day brings. She would love a family that will take her on lots of adventures and keep her busy mind and body occupied with lots of fun games and playtime. Lassen is quick to win your heart with her goofy antics and big brown eyes. She is very food-motivated and smart, and would very much enjoy puppy classes to help her to continue to learn all of her basic manners. Lassen has done great living with other dogs, both big and small, and could do great with a playful dog sibling or as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Lassen has been doing well living with dog-savvy kitties and older kids. She could be a wonderful family dog for a family with kids 7 years and older. Lassen is still working on her housetraining and will need a family committed to helping her learn. She has been doing well sleeping in a crate at night with one of her sisters and for short-periods during the day. She has never been completely alone, so she would need a family that can slowly acclimate her to being comfortable being home alone. Lassen is such a blast to be around, and she is going to make a very lucky family very happy. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Lassen's adoption fee is $400.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. June 11, 2026, 5:23 pm

Story
She is one year old, very loving dog that enjoys training and just being around her person. After getting some energy out all she wants to do is sleep near you. She enjoys getting outside for a short bit in the morning then sleeping till the afternoon. After she has dinner she loves going to the dog park to socialize with dog friends. She is very friendly with other dogs. I see Smitty thriving in about every type of home. She would get along great with older children. She is a bit shy of younger ones and need people to be patient as she warms up. She might duck from a kid trying to pet her at first but she will warm up. I know she would be fine living with other dogs. She knows a lot of commands and love learning new ones. The commands include: Hustle (come here quickly), sit, stay, down, paw, find it, Bang! (play dead), touch, etc.

Story
This pet is in our Los Molinos Sanctuary. Please call to schedule an appointment. Meet Donna Barkin! Donna Barkin is an affectionate, loyal adult girl who finds comfort and joy in close human connection.
