Story
Goku is a ~4-year-old dog who is intelligent, affectionate, and very loyal once he bonds with his person. He was originally acquired as a personal pet and has been living in a home environment. While he has bursts of playfulness, Goku is often a relaxed, couch-potato type who enjoys resting and being near his people. He does best with structure, consistency, and continued training. He is smart, strong-willed, and eager to bond with the right person. Goku needs an adult-only home or a home with older, dog-experienced children (13+). He is uncomfortable around small children and has previously snipped when scared or overwhelmed. He will also need continued training and redirection for occasional mounting behavior; simple corrections like a water spray bottle have been effective. He will do best with an experienced owner willing to provide calm leadership and consistency.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Lilly is a very special girl, after one unfortunate circumstance after another, she finally found her peace and rehabilitation with her fosters and is ready to find her perfect forever family. She is a four year old small sized (pocket) pitty mix. Lilly earned the name, Wiggle Butt, almost immediately after meeting her current foster family because when she’s excited to see you she not only wags her tail, but her whole body! Lilly would love to be your one and only. “Wiggle butt” loves to take her blankets and pillows and make herself a comfortable nest, and she loves to organize her belongings. This includes moving her bowl of food, treats and toys to just the right spot! Her sweet and calm demeanor speaks volumes but just watch! When this girl gets excited, she is like a race car zooming by you! Lilly can be protective of her surroundings and family, which is why we are looking for an adopter that is willing to work with her on behaviors like this if necessary, and is active enough to take her on long walks, but don’t be fooled! She is a couch potato at heart! She would be very easy to retrain with housebreaking. We would be most comfortable placing Lilly with someone who is experienced in dog behavior and does not have any small children or elderly family members because of what she has been through. Have peanut butter... have Lilly! So, go buy a jar of peanut butter!!! *Guest Posting**No Small Children  If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will send it to you in a different format. Adoption fee $150.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. March 8, 2026, 6:30 am

Story
Caesar is a 4-year-old rescue that we adopted in Florida. He has been professionally trained to obey commands which have been reinforced by myself. He is a high-energy dog that requires a walk in the morning and a two mile run next to his golf cart. He would love to have a bigger yard to play in, and would do well with a younger family to spend time with or single man . He is very sweet and affectionate and I often time joke that he wants to be a Walmart greeter. Everyone in the neighborhood knows him and all of the dogs in the neighborhood know him and he gets along with everyone. I have two two cats as well and he acts like the older brother watching over them. He is very prey-oriented towards deer and I utilize an e-collar when we walk and an electric fence at home. He definitely has everything that a dog could ever want and would be given to the adopter. He has a crate for travel, a hard sided hammock for Toyota RAV4, orthopedic bed with sheets, bowls, food, kibble container etc
