Story
Velvet tuxedo coat, lightning-fast tail wags, and a gentlemanly sit-and-shake combo that is hard not to feel is especially for you… this is Bond! Confident, cheerful, and ready to charm every room he walks into, Bond has that easygoing charisma that makes people smile the moment they meet him. Want to see this handsome boy in action? Head over to YouTube and then come right back to read more about the boy who believes good manners and happy tail wags are the ultimate undercover tools. Bond is estimated to be about 2 years old and appears to be a pittie-type mix with a sharp black-and-white “tuxedo” look that really does give him leading-man energy. As always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. From the moment we met Bond, his personality and happy energy made an impression. His tail was wagging so fast it was practically a blur and his little feet were tapping with excitement to say hello. He’s a people-oriented guy who clearly enjoys connection, and he settles into any space with friendly curiosity and a warm, welcoming presence. Bond already comes with a couple of charming built-in tricks too. Ask for a sit and he’ll happily offer it. Ask for a shake and he’ll deliver that polite paw like a true gentleman. It’s a simple little combo, but it melts hearts every time. On leash, Bond has the basics down but is still polishing it up and he will naturally benefit from continued practice and guidance. He checks in with his person often and he responds nicely to correction and direction which shows that he’s a smart boy who wants to work with his person. With dogs Bond is friendly and curious meeting new dogs both on and off leash. He’s still figuring out the language of play and when the other dogs started romping around he is happy to just tag along.. At times he will bounce nearby or run alongside like he wanted to join the fun but wasn’t quite sure how yet. With a calm, easygoing dog companion, especially a medium or lower-energy female, we know his social and playful side will shine. Bond showed us all a sweet, affectionate side that really looks best on a cozy couch. Once invited onto the couch he turns into a puddle of love. He leans into attention and enjoys spending time close by his people. That gentle, people-loving nature makes it easy to picture him settling happily into family life. Bond could do well in a house with a yard or a quieter apartment setting where he can relax and settle in comfortably. Most of all, he’s looking for people who will appreciate his sweet nature, his cheerful spirit, and of course… that very impressive sit-and-shake. If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate dog with a little bit of charm, a little bit of goofiness, and a whole lot of heart, Bond is your guy! Story
Poppy is a brindle babe with an adorable underbite, a signature happy hop, and a suspiciously high IQ when it comes to “toy (de)construction.” She’s estimated to be around 5 years old, weighs about 64 lbs, and our best guess is a boxer/pittie mix (with the usual rescue disclaimer we can’t promise breed or birthday, but personality? We got that!). Want to see Poppy’s hop, underbite grin, and expert-level stuffy work in action? Head to YouTube for “Poppy | Happy-Hop Brindle Babe” https://youtu.be/oVaVj1uh1qk Poppy leads with a softly reserved vibe, the kind that says, “I like to check your vibe before I call you a bestie.” Give her a minute to connect, offer a little play, and you’ll watch her warm up into the happy, bouncy babe she is. She is not an all-day chaos coordinator, she is working with short bursts of bouncy joy and then goes immediately back to lounging. Even her zoomies are delightfully abbreviated bursts, like she’s squeezing in one quick lap of silliness before returning to her regularly scheduled sniffari. Hobbies? Poppy adores stuffy toys… and also believes fluff is meant to be set free. She is a 1000% certified defluffer, so if you’re a BarkBox household, the “durable chews and tough toys” subscription tier is where you are aiming (or at least stuffies you won’t mourn after 4–7 minutes of enthusiastic “work”). In playgroup, Poppy showed that she’s most comfortable with calm, respectful dog friends. She would enjoy a buddy who can take a hint and prefers “play if invited” rather than constant wrestling auditions. On leash, she was decent and generally focused on wandering and sniffing alongside her new friends rather than making a big fuss about the other dogs. Once she meets and settles in she mingles around wonderfully. Poppy’s dream home is on the calmer side, where her people appreciate her rather low-key pace. A house with a yard would be lovely for her, but she may also be comfortable in an apartment with appropriate daily outlets and enrichment. And Poppy is looking for a cat-free home. Meeting our house cat it was easy to see that her curiosity was a bit too intense for the average house cat. We imagine she has simply never met of lived with one but that curiosity wouldn’t like fade and would be annoying to the cat and the calm of your home. tIf you’re looking for a sweet, grown-up brindle girl with a couch-loving heart, a goofy hop, and a world-class underbite smile, Poppy is ready and waiting for you! Story
If Holly could write her own job title, it would be: Professional Toy Collector + Zoomie Specialist + Booty-Scratch Enthusiast. Ask her about her hobbies and she would say “foodie!”I would agree with her 100% on that. She gets told everyday that she has the kind of happy energy that makes everyday better and everyone smile. She is a bouncy bean, sunshine with a bunny hop, toy-loving, giggle-generator. Want to watch Holly in action? Head right this way to see Holly and all her happiness. https://youtu.be/3dkshK0adeI Basic stats on Holly, though we cannot guarantee age or breed given she is a rescue. Holly is estimated to be just shy of 4 years old, weighs 60 lbs, and is likely a pittie/staffie mix. You’ll see it when you look at that barrel-shaped body we love to snuggle. Holly is one of those dogs that when you ask someone to tell you about her they say “Oh my gosh, where do I start!” with a big ol’ smile on their face. Anyone who knows her will tell you Holly is all-in and always a good time! She’s wiggly, affectionate, and truly lights up for people. She’s also got a smart side under all that sparkle. Holly has a solid head start on basics like sit and come, and she even knows drop it (which is extra impressive for a dog who believes toys are a lifestyle). She has basic leash manners and at her worst can be described as strong but respects her handler when the expectation is set that she needs to walk nicely. With other dogs, Holly is social and confident and does best with a playmate who can match or at least appreciates her rowdy, happy, bouncy play style. She is used regularly in behavior assessments for new incoming rescue dogs because of how consistent and reliable she is meeting new dogs. Whether it is an on-leash greeting or being dropped into a playgroup, Holly is confident and keeps things fun. If joining a home with another dog, Holly will bring the party, as long as her new buddy speaks “bounce” fluently. Holly’s love of toys cannot be breezed over. She loves toys so much that there is genuinely not a single type of toy she would turn down. From a ball to a stuffie, a squeaky something to a plain ol’ stick, she is going to trot around with it looking as goofy and happy as possible. With a stuffie, the bigger and softer the better, especially if it doesn’t quite fit in her mouth, because then she trots around barely able to see over the toy and your giggles will be hard to contain. On a sunny day she will show you her signature move is what we call a “happy-flop” she’ll fetch her favorite stick or rubber toy, plop it down like it’s precious cargo, then dramatically roll all over it in the grass, belly to the sky, huge pittie smile on her face.. Holly is looking for a home that will celebrate her goofy toy-zoomies, laugh at her happy flops, and then happily pay the “booty scratch tax” she’s clearly owed. If you’re ready for a dog who is down for whatever and will make everything more fun while turning your heart into a puddle, Holly is ready for the role! . Apply for Holly here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67fffc87c2bd7fdb6d01eb52 Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Oh my heck this little girl is an absolute sweetheart and is a legit baby seal!! The only difference between an actual baby seal and this sweetie is that you can actually take this one home! Lola has the sweetest face and the sweetest heart. Everything about her is adorable and if her sweet little pittie face doesn’t make you head over heels for her then her personality will. My favorite thing about her are those big brown eyes of hers and the way she looks at people, even those she just met. She quite literally looks into your soul. I’m obsessed with her and would take her home in a heartbeat! Fun fact, I actually did and I cannot love her anymore and I know you will too. She’s the sweetest thing! She will sit at your feet, cuddle up, sit in your lap and be as close as possible. Lola by far one of the easiest dogs I have also ever fostered. She is a 10/10 hands down. When you adopt Lola and bring her home, you’ll find that you have yourself a true snuggly bestie that will love you no matter what. Watch her video, yes it’s 20min…but it’s worth watching every single second of it and this 20min could be your future with Lola in your life: https://youtu.be/fZg7R1c0hMw?si=7rzXrt5TRvaw3lVA Lola Lovebug is a dainty little Pittie/Staffie mix with these big brown “pet me” eyes. She has an adorable habit of perching her chin on the edge of your couch, the corner of your bed, or even on your knees, and gazing up at you until you pay attention to her. She really does feel more like a human child than a dog, she’s a total “fur baby,” “doghter,” “baby dog” type of pup. She’s estimated to be around 7 years old but don't let that fool you, age is just a number and she's got a young heart with grown up manners. She's in her golden glow era. Lola is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What's not a mystery is how much she loves her people and how loyal she is. Lola is so sweet and gentle, giving you kisses every chance she can get. Hopefully not interrupting your very important meeting(s) but even if she does, it's totally worth it. Speaking of work meetings and work life in general. Do you ever get envious of those people that get to take their dog to the office because they are that well behaved and quiet that they make the perfect office companion? Well, Lola can be your perfect office companion!! We know this for a fact because she already is her foster dad’s work from home buddy and hangs out with him every day at his home office. She also has spent time in real working offices, even man cave car places, and her calm loving offers the best kind of support making busy days feel calmer and lighter just with her presence. She is office tested, employee approved, quietly hangs out, naps nearby, and soaks up all the compliments. Lola will also provide the perfect amount of white noise with her little baby snores too. Who can resist that?! Lola loves to go on walks and she is very easy to walk on a leash. She hardly ever pulls and is sure to stay by your side enjoying every step of the way. The only times she does pull while out on a walk is when another dog barks at her as you will see in her video. It is not hard to help her reset whatsoever. All it takes is a good “no” and a simple leash correction. That’s all it takes. If you're someone who likes to go for walks around the neighborhood, explore the nature parks nearby, want a buddy to take with you to run errands, etc. Lola is the perfect companion to have with you. She loves leisurely walks throughout the neighborhood, tagging along where you wanna go if you take, and will love it even more when she's with her forever person. She’s super friendly with everyone she meets on walks too, and enjoys the extra attention that new friends always seem to bring. At her foster’s house, she even has her own personal fan club. Everyone knows her and everyone loves her. You’ll see in her video just how happy she gets when she sees the neighbor’s son across the street. He even said that he is wanting his next dog to be like Lola and specifically wants one that looks like her too. You can’t make that up, she is just that amazing. She’s great in the car too, and sits up in the backseat looking out the window or when she’s riding in the front seat. She’s your cute little passenger princess. She even does great on long car rides too! Lola is a smart gal and is incredibly trainable, she already knows some basic commands such as “sit,” and “lay down,” and her foster mom says all the time that she is a joy to teach new things too, is so eager to please, and is overall just a GOOD dog. She is crate trained and potty trained and has wonderful house manners too, never getting into things she's not supposed to be. Not feeling up for a walk one day? Totally fine with Lola! She is so easy going and loves to relax. Don't tell her we told you this but she's kinda lazy and in the absolute best way! Meaning she's not the type of dog that is going to require much exercise nor is she going to be bothered if she didn't get a walk that day. She is perfectly content relaxing at home with you, snuggled up watching movies all day. She’ll be happy to play fetch while also being just as happy lounging like the little baby seal that she is. Lola is so adaptable, it does not take much to make her happy!! All she really cares about is just loving you. She wants to be with you and to make you happy. She wants to be a companion dog. Your SOUL dog. Lola would also thrive as your one and only fur baby as well and we believe she might be happiest being the center of your attention. She does not need the company of another dog to feel comfortable nor does she need another dog in the home to fulfill her energy needs. Lola loves everyone she meets and bonds very quickly with people and she is the definition of a house hippo LOL. She would also do best in a home with out any kitty friends as well. Lola has also been around kids as young as 2 years old to 18 and everything else in between. She does completely fine with them, to her it's more opportunities for affection but just from a smaller or younger human. She is a total sweetheart with them, takes treats gently from them, and will even listen to them when they give her a command. She was evening listening to the smallest little humans that could say words. Lola isn’t bothered by all the jumping, screaming, random movements, running around, and all of the chaos that comes with being in a room with young kids. If you have kids, then you know exactly what we're talking about LOL. Even in those high energy moments with kids running around and when you're rushing to gather all the supplies/backpacks/school lunches, etc. the last thing anyone is going to want is a dog that is going to add to that mayhem. With Lola, you're not going to have to worry about that whatsoever. She is so relaxed in those moments and just watches everything going on around her or she's just walking around wagging her tail. It does not phase her one bit! She’s happy as a clam regardless of what is going on around her and just happy to be included. Again, she’s your soul dog and just wants to be loved. Lola is a once-in-a-lifetime perfect pup, and ready for her forever home. She is so cool, calm and collected, a literal love bug (hence her name), so friendly, well behaved, and so much more. She’s not too picky about your home, she just wants your love. Lola enjoys being outside and would thrive in a home with a yard where she can play fetch on occasion and soak in the sun. Story
You just simply HAVE to meet Momo! A small boy with a bigger than life personality who is just waiting for you to sign that dotted line and bring him home! He is dog friendly, loves to play, kid friendly, great car rider, and the list can go on and on! There is just so much to love about him. Watch his video and fall in love with this happy little fella: https://youtu.be/7OqJGB5syL4?si=O-3emyqN95Q2zb33 Momo Sugar is a pittie mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 37 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. With that long body, short little legs, bouncy ears, piggy like nose, and his perfectly curled tail, he's a true mystery but he's the cutest mystery! Momo loves to toss his toys in the air and catch them, proving he’s an expert in self-entertainment. But don’t let his playful energy fool you, once he’s had his fun, he’s all about lounging on the floor and hanging out with his people, soaking up the family vibes. Momo is currently living in a busy foster home with multiple dogs of all ages and sizes, including his best friend, a teeny tiny Chihuahua! They love wrestling to together, snuggling, and just enjoying each other's company. It's easy for him to make doggy friends and really enjoys having canine companions to wrestle and romp with. Mom isn't all play all the time either. So no need to worry about your home turning into a 24/7 doggy day care. After a good play session or fetch in the back yard, he's fully ready to lay to down and take a nap. Momo has also been around kids ages 7–10, including an autistic child and has done great with kids! He plays with enthusiasm, is full of personality, and has the best time playing with older kids. Older kids are a little more stable on their feet and can play his favorite game with him, which is fetch! Momo is a smarty pants too! He already knows commands like “sit” and would love to join you on daily walks to explore the world together. He is also crate trained and potty trained and has wonderful house manners. Speaking of exploring, Momo makes a great shotgun rider. So the possibilities are limitless on where you will go together! He often joins his foster family for trips to the local dog park, where he is able to show off his fetch skills in front of everyone. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, toy-tossing, and heartwarming companion, Momo is ready to bring his big personality to your home. His foster family told us that he is just so sweet and it took no time for them to fall in love with him. So, what do you say, are you ready to experience the Momo lovin’ life? We are willing to test Momo Sugar with anything you need to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Meet Apple Connie – the beautiful, sophisticated lady with the squishy bulldog face, the most cuddle-able body in the business (she’s 50 pounds of pure love!), and a personality that makes everyone she meets instantly fall for her. Around 5 years old and overflowing with charm, Apple has quickly become a favorite here at the rescue—and for good reason. She’s on a mission to make best friends of us all, one kiss and cuddle at a time. Apple is what we like to call a professional lovebug. She thrives on affection and attention and believes belly rubs are a basic human responsibility. Whether she’s sunbathing in a golden patch of light, snoozing at your feet, or gently placing her head in your lap for pets, Apple is here to be your best snuggle buddy, emotional support potato, and constant companion. See her in action here, and come back to read more! Happy Apple the loving little bulldog!!!🍎 https://youtu.be/lpshPyvlu5M?si=Z6Nli59VJo63-t5L She’s a mellow, couch-loving girl who still enjoys her daily walks, especially if it means she gets to greet new people along the way. Apple is famously gentle when taking treats, has great manners in the house, and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night. She’s potty trained, crate-trained, and learning her leash skills like a champ—especially since she’s highly food-motivated and eager to please. Apple gets along well with other dogs, especially once she’s had time to settle in. She prefers calm playmates who match her easygoing vibe—none of that big-dog, high-speed chaos for her, thank you very much. She’s more of a “let’s stroll around the yard and then nap in the shade” kind of gal. Now, about cats—Apple says, “no thank you.” She has officially decided that feline roommates are not her thing, and we respect that. We all have our boundaries, and Apple’s just happen to involve fur that meows. She’s also a natural in public and doesn’t mind being the center of attention (she assumes the admiration is well-deserved—and she’s not wrong). Whether riding calmly in the car, walking through the neighborhood like a local celebrity, or even being picked up or dressed up for Halloween, Apple takes it all in stride. She’s the perfect blend of classy and goofy. While she’s happy to share her space with another chill dog, Apple’s biggest requirement is a loving human (or several!) who will spoil her with affection and maybe share the couch. She’d love a yard for sunbathing, a home that understands the value of quality nap time, and people who will appreciate her quiet loyalty and subtle humor. She’s the kind of dog who will look into your soul and then... fall asleep on your feet. Apple Connie isn’t just ready for her forever home—she’s ready to move in and steal your heart. If you’re looking for a dog who will be your shadow, your best friend, and your most loyal cuddle companion, Apple is your girl. Ready to bring a new furry friend into your life?
