Story
Bahama is an 11½-year-old, 15-pound Poodle blend who recently returned to us when her owner could no longer care for her. This sweet senior girl is now searching for a calm, loving forever home to spend her golden years.Bahama absolutely adores her people and forms strong bonds with the humans she loves. She would do best as the only dog in the home since she prefers not to share her favorite people with other canine companions. In return, she’ll make you feel like the most important person in the world with all the love and attention she gives! She enjoys going for walks, is housetrained, and even knows how to use a dog door. Bahama can be timid at first and needs time to warm up, especially with new people and unfamiliar situations. Because she can be skittish and experiences anxiety during thunderstorms and fireworks, she would thrive in a quieter home environment with patient adopters. She’s also used to having someone around much of the day and would love companionship and a steady routine. While she enjoys being close to her people, she’s not necessarily a lap dog — she simply wants to be near you, soaking up your company and love.To get started in the process of meeting Bahama, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Fizzy Pop is a 1-1/2 year old, 9 pound Terrier/Poodle blend who joined us recently and is looking for his forever home! He spent the 4th of July weekend on a sleepover with one of our volunteers, and we're happy to learn that fireworks don't scare him. He's a young, active little guy - one minute he'll be doing zoomies and playing like there's no tomorrow, and the next he'll be crashed out next to you on the couch. He learned the dog door and with a consistent schedule and a little bit of prompting, he seems to be housetrained. He loves to play with toys, and does well playing with other dogs who like to play. He loves to try to lick your face, and has mastered the sneak attack when trying. This adorable little guy will steal your heart, and possibly a shoe to carry around (no chewing though!). He sleeps through the night like a champ. He will need regular grooming, as his hair was a bit "wild" when he joined us, but he cleans up nicely! He also has exceptional car riding and leash manners. As an added bonus, he sits like a gentleman in a shopping cart and patiently surveys the other shoppers, while you shop.To get started in the process of meeting this dog, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. Story
Approximate Date of Birth: 8/25/25 | My name is Pluto Parade! I am learning to feel safe and ready to start my new life with you. I can't overstate how much I absolutely love playing in a baby pool and splashing in the water on sunny days. I have zoomies in the morning and enjoy sleeping in bed with someone. I am small for standard poodle, currently weighing in at an adorable 28 pounds, and I am a rare blue merle "party poodle". I am housebroken, doggy door trained and starting to enjoy doggy walks. My absolute most favorite things are snuggling at the foot of the bed and splashing around in the pool. | Sociable with cats: Likes with proper introduction | Sociable with dogs: Likes dogs with proper introduction | Sociable with kids over 8| Health information: All cats and kittens are spayed and neutered, preventatively dewormed, and microchipped. In addition, they are FeLV/FIV tested and vaccinated as appropriate by age. | Interested in adopting? Story
Approximate date of birth: 8/25/2025 | Hi! I'm KoKo Moe, your future bundle of joy! I love playing fetch and have tons of energy to run and play. I'm also super loyal – once we bond, I'll be your shadow and best friend. I might be a bit goofy, tripping over my own paws sometimes, but that just adds to my charm. I'm really sweet, too; I love giving puppy kisses and snuggling. I am learning all the rules of living in a house: I am almost completely housebroken, learning to be good on a leash, and I can use a doggy door. If you're looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion, I'm your pup! Let's make endless memories together! Just remember, I am a Standard Poodle, which means my beautiful soft non-shedding hair will need grooming care throughout my life. I am agile, playful, smart, and gentle. | Sociable with cats: Likes with proper introduction | Sociable with dogs: Loves them | Sociable with kids over 8| Health information: All cats and kittens are spayed and neutered, preventatively dewormed, and microchipped.
