Story
Yates is an 11-12 year old, 27 pound poodle blend who was returned recently when his owner could no longer care for him. He is a sweet boy who does well meeting other dogs. He's a mellow, laid back guy who has excellent leash manners and enjoys car rides. He is treat motivated and knows basic commands. He'll need a home who will give him regular baths and grooming. He's living at our adoption center and would love to meet you.You are welcome to submit an inquiry for more information about this animal, but please note that we strongly encourage potential adopters to come and see us in person and speak with an adoption counselor. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. We do ask for 24 hours time to respond to an inquiry (48 hours on weekends) and often a dog or cat is adopted before you get a response back. If this dog was not good with other dogs, cats or has a restriction with kids, we will note them in the bio. In keeping with new guidelines regarding COVID19, will be limiting the number of people in our building at any given time, but currently do not require appointments. We do want a dog to meet all family members and any canine residents prior to adoption, to ensure a good match. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality / needs of the dog / cat. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. An inquiry on a dog or cat does not automatically put that dog or cat on hold for anyone. Deposits can be placed on all available dogs or cats after the family has met the dog or cat and we all feel the match is a good match. If there’s more than one family interested in a dog when that dog becomes available, we will hold a lottery with all families that are a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
