Story
Sterling is a 2 year old, 72 pound Poodle blend who joined us recently and is now looking for his forever home. When he joined us he was severely matted so he'll need a family committed to getting him groomed regularly. Sterling did well meeting other dogs, and really seems to enjoy his people and checks back frequently to make sure he isn't missing any cues. He's a big, gentle boy and he'd love to meet you.To get started on the adoption process, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then stop by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. Or you can just come and see us and fill out a consultation form upon arrival! No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Minnie is an adorable 7-year-old, 12-pound Poodle who recently joined Friends for Life when a change in her family’s daily life and routine meant they could no longer care for her. Through no fault of her own, Minnie is now looking for a forever family ready to begin her next chapter!Don’t let the number seven fool you—Minnie still has plenty of play in her! This friendly little lady enjoys having fun, meeting people and being part of the action. She also seems very interested in meeting other dogs and may enjoy having a compatible canine companion in her new home. With her beautiful Poodle coat comes a little maintenance, so Minnie’s new family should be prepared to keep her looking and feeling fabulous with regular grooming. At just 12 pounds, Minnie is a perfectly portable little companion with a friendly personality and a playful spirit. She may not have expected to be searching for a new home at this stage of her life, but she’s ready to put the past behind her and find a family who will love her for all the years ahead.Minnie can’t wait to meet her forever family—could it be yours? To get started on the adoption process, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then stop by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. Story
DOB: 08/16/2023 Breed: Goldendoodle mixSpayed female 61lbsMicrochipped & fully vaccinatedNegative for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, and on a monthly preventative*Adoption Fee $500*A little bit about me… Hi, I’m Atlanta! I’m a big girl with a sharp mind, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for life. I can be very sweet and affectionate once I feel comfortable, but I’ll be honest, I like to do things my way sometimes. I know my manners, I just occasionally choose to test them. One of my absolute favorite things is water! I also love toys and can happily play fetch again and again. I’m strong, energetic, and always ready for my next adventure, which means I’ll need continued leash training and a confident handler to help guide me. With the right person who enjoys training, playing, and a dog with a little sass, I’ll make a fun, loyal, and loving companion. The highlights…-I love playing in water-Regular grooming is a must -Very stubborn-Weary of strangers at firstKey points to know…-I’m still learning my manners. At 2 years old. I have lots of energy and a big personality. I can be stubborn and a little bratty, so I’ll need consistent rules and guidance to help me be my best self.-I’m smart and I know it. I catch on quickly, but I like to test boundaries. Positive training, patience, and follow-through will go a long way with me.-I need structure, not short cuts. Training, mental enrichment, and daily engagement are important for me. I’ll thrive with someone who enjoys working with a dog who keeps things interesting.

Story
Name: Zurich Breed: Aussie/Poodle Mix Gender: Male (Already Neutered) Age: 4 Months Good with dogs (big+small?): I only have big dogs but I say yes, he would get along with a small dog too. Good with cats: Not sure, but he was previously with a cat rescue... so maybe. Good with kids? (If so, what ages): I haven't had him exposed to any kids yet. He is bad at wanting to jump at people a lot, so real small kids that may be an issue. Good with men: Yes! Crate trained/in process of: Mostly crate trained. Goes in very well but will whine sometimes at night for a few minutes before settling. Doggy door trained: Don't have one. Leash trained: Will be starting leash training soon. Knows any tricks: Currently working on basic commands. Getting pretty good at sit. Likes: All toys, running fast around the yard chasing the other dogs, being near his person. Dislikes: He does not like when a dog(s) tries to play too rough. Must haves: Someone patient to work on his training. Someone who is home a lot and/or another dog in the home. A yard to run around in or an active person. Apartment dog: I don't think so. He is not a big barker but when he is upset because he doesn't want to be shut up or sometimes when he wants a toy another dog has he can be a loud barker. Fun facts: Zurich can be a little timid with some things but he is a bouncing little acrobat with others things. I think after basic training he would do great at agility training. Ideal home: Zurich is almost/or fully deaf so he needs someone (or a family) that will be patient with him as he trains to be the great dog I know he will be. https://linktr.ee/loveconnectiondogrescueaz?utm_source=qr_code
