Story
My name is Coco (formerly known as Teddy) and here is a little info about me: (LOCATED IN VANCOUVER)Breed: Poodle TerrierAge: 2 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 25lbHeight: 12 inchesCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Sweet, Cuddly, gentle, playful, Love other animals and humans A little about me:Your future best friend wrapped in a bundle of love. I’m the kind of pup who’ll gently nudge your hand for more cuddles, follow you around just to be near you, and make you smile every single day. I wasn’t always safe or warm. I was found wandering alone near an abandoned house in the Middle East — scared, hungry, and unsure if anyone would ever come for me. My fur was matted, my eyes were tired, and I had clearly been surviving on my own for far too long. But even in that awful situation, I never lost my gentle nature. I still wagged my tail when someone approached, hoping for kindness. And one day, that kindness came. A group of rescuers saw me, scooped me up, and promised I’d never be alone again.  I’m now safe in a loving foster home in Canada, slowly learning what it feels like to be part of a family. All I need now is a forever home to call my own — with someone who sees past where I’ve been and into the sweet soul I am. Everyone says I’m a sweetheart. I’m gentle, incredibly kind, playful, and love being close to people. Whether it’s kids, dogs, or even cats — I get along with everyone. I thrive on affection and being part of the family. I’m the type of dog who wants to follow you from room to room, not because I’m clingy, but because I just love being near you. I'd do well in a home that enjoys companionship and is looking for a smart, affectionate dog. If you have other pups, cats or kids, I’ll fit right in.  More About Me: Coco playing catchCoco being petCoco around dogsCoco playing Energy Level:  Moderate — I enjoy walks and playtime, but I’m just as happy to curl up for a nap. I Get Along With: Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends. Cats: Yes  Kids: Yes Fears: I’m a brave little survivor, but please be patient as I continue settling into new environments. Training: Leash skills: Yes, but please continue to guide me in my new home.House trained: Yes, but please continue to guide me in my new home. Health Notes:I am healthy and ready to go!I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2404507##

Story
Wall-E is a doodle mix, approximately 2–3 years old and weighing around 30 pounds. He is a quiet, reserved boy who has found the shelter environment to be a bit overwhelming, especially at first. Because of this, he may appear shy or uncertain, but he is expected to feel more comfortable and confident once settled into a home. When Wall-E first arrived, his long coat limited his vision, which likely contributed to his fear and hesitation. Since then, it’s become clear that he does best when people move slowly and handle him gently. He appreciates calm energy and a patient approach that allows him to feel safe. Training & Support Needs Wall-E will benefit from continued confidence-building and gentle guidance. He needs handlers who can go at his pace, use soft movements, and give him time to process new situations. Positive reinforcement and routine will help him continue to settle and learn. He is not a dog that thrives with pressure, but he does respond well to kindness and consistency. Ideal Home Wall-E would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home that allows him to settle in on his own terms. A calm household will help him feel secure as he adjusts. Other dogs may be a good fit if they are well matched to his gentle, low-key demeanor. Cat testing will be completed soon. Due to his sensitivity, a home with children aged 16 and older is recommended. Wall-E is looking for an understanding adopter who can see past the shelter nerves and give him the time and space he needs to show who he really is. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Apply? Story
Eva is a sweet, funny, and delightfully bouncy doodle-mix puppy, estimated to be between 7–10 months old. She’s at that wonderful age where everything is exciting and there’s so much to see, do, and experience. Eva brings joyful puppy energy wherever she goes and loves being part of the action. Training & Puppy Needs Eva is still very much an “older puppy,” so her future family should be committed to continuing her training and development. This includes: Frequent potty breaks Ongoing socialization Working on basic manners, including polite greetings (she may jump when excited.) Ideal Home Eva would fit well into most homes as long as her family understands and embraces puppy energy. She can be placed with: Children aged 8+, provided they are comfortable with a dog that may jump up when excited Other dogs, especially those who enjoy playful, energetic companions Eva has not yet been tested with cats, but this information will be updated once available. Grooming Needs As a doodle mix, Eva will require regular grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. This includes: Routine brushing at home to prevent matting Professional grooming every 6–8 weeks Committing to her grooming routine will help Eva look and feel her best. Eva is a happy, energetic young dog who is ready to learn, love, and grow with her forever family. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion and are ready for the joys of puppyhood, Eva may be the perfect match! 💕 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Apply? Good day to you, Canada. My name is YARA and here is a bit of ihfo about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 1 yearGender: maleSize: 8 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Calm, intelligent, palyful and social If it is endless loyalty, joy, and gratitude you seek in life, then I am the boy who has neen waiting for you. When rescuers first found me, I was a shadow of the happy pup of today. Abandoned and left in the ruins of a home to fend for myself, I had every reason to give up on people. But I never lost hope. Beneath my worried eyes was a gentle soul, waiting for someone to show me kindness.Rescuers brought me to safety, and for the first time in a long time, I felt warmth, care, and a full belly. I am a little survivor with a big heart. Day by day, my spirit blossomed. That shy, trembling dog of yesterday was slowly transformed into a playful, affectionate companion I am today. Now, I greet everyone with a wagging tail and a heart wide open.I do well with other dogs. My rescuer says I am also good with cats and kids, but there are no videos as proof of this.My name means “small butterfly” — and just like a butterfly, I have emerged from my cocoon of hardship into something beautiful and free. I adore cuddles, love gentle walks, and am happiest when I know I am not alone. Now, all I need is a forever family to continue my journey — someone who will promise me love, safety, and a place to finally call home. Story
UPDATE: Howdy, I am a very well-mannered guy and I am looking for my forever home! My current caregiver says that I am nearly perfect, apart from a bit of a prey drive but, given that I'm under 20 lbs, I am very manageable on leash. I love to cuddle and to join my human in whatever adventures are happening. If you would like to meet me, please let me know because I would love to meet you! Good day. My name is LUMI and here is some info about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 1 yearGender: maleSize: 8 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Calm, playful, loving, intelligent, and social Looking for love in all the right places... ok, maybe I got that song a little off, but being a loving and social boy, I am looking for love in the right place, Canada. Lovers of freedom and dogs. I know I will be blessed with the loving home I deserve. My story began in the darkest of times. When war tore through my homeland, I was left behind — frightened, confused, and alone. My soft white fur, once a sign of comfort and love, became a reminder of abandonment, as I wandered through rubble and chaos, searching for safety. Fate  had a different plan in store for me though. Rescuers found me, trembling yet hopeful, and pulled me out of danger. Now, I am safe in a boarding facility, where for the first time in months I sleep on a soft blanket and eat without fear that tomorrow’s meal won’t come.Despite all I have endured, this survivor’s spirit in me is unbroken. I greet everyone with gentle eyes and a wagging tail, my way of saying: “I still believe in love.”I'm playful and intelligent. What else would you expect but smarts, with poodle in me. You'll find me to be pretty calm though too. Maybe nothing can rattle me now, after all I went through not so long ago.I am good with other dogs, as you'll see in the video. Don't worry, my fur is growing back. It had to be buzzed off to get me cleaned up after my ordeal. Oh, I love car rides, sweet times. Though my rescuer states I am good with cats and children, there are no videos of this. I know to go outside to do my business too.I'm just waiting for my forever family — someone who will give me what war stole from me: safety, tenderness, and a place to call home. Could you be the one to write the next chapter of my story? Additional vid: https://youtube.com/shorts/jdn-w3JUNuI. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown. Story
Hello! My name is Grizzly and I’m a 7-year-old petite Goldendoodle with a big heart and an even bigger love for my people Here is some information about me: Breed: Petite Goldendoodle Age: 7 years old Gender: Male Weight: 33 pounds Height: 18” I get along with: Dog but we don't know about cats. I do not get along with small children. Energy Level: low-moderate Fears/Prey Drive: small children Training: yes Leash Skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue with my training. Housetrained: Yes.  Please assist me in learning where to go in my new home. Health: I am healthy, up to date on vaccinations and neutered.  I need to be microchipped. Adoption fee: $750 CAD plus taxes About me - I may be small at 33 pounds and 18 inches tall, but I’m full of warmth, loyalty, and affection. I’ve spent my whole life in a loving home, raised carefully and thoughtfully since I was just 8 weeks old. I know what it means to be part of a family, and I truly shine when I can form a close, meaningful bond with my person. I’m a cuddly, attentive, and supportive companion—the kind of dog who notices how you’re feeling and wants to be right there with you. My energy level is moderate and flexible: I enjoy short walks, calm outings, and then settling in to relax by your side. Quality time is my favorite thing. I don’t have a strong prey drive, and I much prefer peaceful moments over chaos. I do like to use my voice and can be a bit of a barker, especially when I’m alerting my people or feeling protective of my home. Because of this, I’d be happiest in a detached home rather than an apartment or shared-wall setting, where I can feel relaxed and express myself comfortably. My life recently changed when my family welcomed a baby. While I’m a good boy, I find babies and young children overwhelming, and it’s become clear that I’m happiest and most at ease in a calm, adult-only home. I truly want to thrive again, and that means finding a space where I can feel safe, understood, and deeply connected to my humans. I’m generally friendly with other dogs, but I can be a little protective of my food and toys, so I’d do best as the only dog, where I don’t have to share and can fully relax or in a home that knows how to manage this. The good news? I’m house-trained, neutered, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I have great manners, a loving nature, and years of companionship to offer. What I’m hoping for now is a forever home where I can be someone’s loyal sidekick—sharing quiet mornings, gentle walks, cozy evenings, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who just wants to belong, I might be your Grizzly Health: I am healthy, up to date on vaccinations and neutered.  I need to be microchipped.
