Story
My name is Coco (formerly known as Teddy) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle TerrierAge: 2 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 15lbHeight: 12 inchesCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Sweet, Cuddly, gentle, playful, Love other animals and humans A little about me:Your future best friend wrapped in a bundle of love. I’m the kind of pup who’ll gently nudge your hand for more cuddles, follow you around just to be near you, and make you smile every single day. I wasn’t always safe or warm. I was found wandering alone near an abandoned house in the Middle East — scared, hungry, and unsure if anyone would ever come for me. My fur was matted, my eyes were tired, and I had clearly been surviving on my own for far too long. But even in that awful situation, I never lost my gentle nature. I still wagged my tail when someone approached, hoping for kindness. And one day, that kindness came. A group of rescuers saw me, scooped me up, and promised I’d never be alone again.  I’m now safe in a loving foster home, slowly learning what it feels like to be part of a family. All I need now is a forever home to call my own — with someone who sees past where I’ve been and into the sweet soul I am. Everyone says I’m a sweetheart. I’m gentle, incredibly kind, playful, and love being close to people. Whether it’s kids, dogs, or even cats — I get along with everyone. I thrive on affection and being part of the family. I’m the type of dog who wants to follow you from room to room, not because I’m clingy, but because I just love being near you. I'd do well in a home that enjoys companionship and is looking for a smart, affectionate dog. If you have other pups, cats or kids, I’ll fit right in.  More About Me: Coco playing catchCoco being petCoco around dogsCoco playing Energy Level:  Moderate — I enjoy walks and playtime, but I’m just as happy to curl up for a nap. I Get Along With: Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends. Cats: Yes  Kids: Yes Fears: I’m a brave little survivor, but please be patient as I continue settling into new environments. Training: Leash skills: Yes, but please continue to guide me in my new home.House trained: Yes, but please continue to guide me in my new home. Health Notes:I am healthy and ready to go!I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2404507##

Cuckoo Cuckoo. It's CUCKOO time, me. Here is some info about me:Breed: Havanese/Poodle MixAge: 3 yearsGender: maleWeight: 12 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: gentle, friendly, well-behaved, calm, affectionate Rise and shine, it's your friendly neighborhood Cuckoo clock alarm. My early life was spent confined on a rooftop inside a fenced area. I was left alone exposed to the elements whether sun or rain. I survived on leftover food that was occasionally thrown to me. One day, a kind neighbor noticed my situation and tried to talk to the owners, but they showed no concern. They said they planned to sell ne or use me for breeding. The neighbor recorded videos and took photos, which were shared with rescuers. Thanks to all their efforts and insistence, I was purchased from that family and finally sabed from that wretched existence.Since then, I have proven to be a polite, loving, and well-behaved boy with no behavioral issues. I am just waiting for a family to truly love me.I am a gentle and calm pup. It is my desire to be able to snuggle up with you, as I am an affectionate boy.Cuckoo, cuckoo. I can let you know when it is time to go for a walk, when it is time to eat or play... ok well, I can't cuckoo, but I can arf arf. Of course, you will have to teach me to tell time first. You'll find I am a good student though.I would love to have a family to hold me and show me about the big, wide world of Canadian fun.  Time's a ticking. Arf arf, I'm waiting for you. Story
UPDATE: Howdy, I am a very well-mannered guy and I am looking for my forever home! My current caregiver says that I am nearly perfect, apart from a bit of a prey drive but, given that I'm under 20 lbs, I am very manageable on leash. I love to cuddle and to join my human in whatever adventures are happening. If you would like to meet me, please let me know because I would love to meet you! Good day. My name is LUMI and here is some info about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 1 yearGender: maleSize: 8 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Calm, playful, loving, intelligent, and social Looking for love in all the right places... ok, maybe I got that song a little off, but being a loving and social boy, I am looking for love in the right place, Canada. Lovers of freedom and dogs. I know I will be blessed with the loving home I deserve. My story began in the darkest of times. When war tore through my homeland, I was left behind — frightened, confused, and alone. My soft white fur, once a sign of comfort and love, became a reminder of abandonment, as I wandered through rubble and chaos, searching for safety. Fate  had a different plan in store for me though. Rescuers found me, trembling yet hopeful, and pulled me out of danger. Now, I am safe in a boarding facility, where for the first time in months I sleep on a soft blanket and eat without fear that tomorrow’s meal won’t come.Despite all I have endured, this survivor’s spirit in me is unbroken. I greet everyone with gentle eyes and a wagging tail, my way of saying: “I still believe in love.”I'm playful and intelligent. What else would you expect but smarts, with poodle in me. You'll find me to be pretty calm though too. Maybe nothing can rattle me now, after all I went through not so long ago.I am good with other dogs, as you'll see in the video. Don't worry, my fur is growing back. It had to be buzzed off to get me cleaned up after my ordeal. Oh, I love car rides, sweet times. Though my rescuer states I am good with cats and children, there are no videos of this. I know to go outside to do my business too.I'm just waiting for my forever family — someone who will give me what war stole from me: safety, tenderness, and a place to call home. Could you be the one to write the next chapter of my story? Additional vid: https://youtube.com/shorts/jdn-w3JUNuI. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown. (BONDED WITH SOLSTICE)My name is CEREAL (Xiaoman) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle/Tibetan Terrier mixAge: 5 yrsGender: maleWeight: 15 lbsHeight: 16 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): Affectionate, lively, clingy, curious, obedient I'm a curious little guy with a lively bounce in my step. My name Xiaoman means grain buds? Cute hunh? It is a Chinese term used during Summertime. Hence the name Cereal.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and my pal Lixia developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and Lixia underwent surgery for his eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later. My most recent vet visit, confirmed my good health. My dental health is generally good with a pending detailed exam upcoming.I tend toward the affectionate, but can be a little clingy, as I show slight separation anxiety. This should resolve in time with a little consistent work. I'm an obedient little boy, who will happily take cues on what you want. Now that I've been getting socialized, I have improved significantly on my housetraining skills. My friend Lixia and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. We would likely adapt to most any home. We get along with other dogs, though we haven't been introduced to cats.
