**Twinkie is not yet ready to be officially adopted. She is available for a foster-to-adopt trial only at this time. We will only be considering applications within two hours of Kamloops, as Twinkie's behavioral needs are so complex. **Meet Twinkie, a special lady looking for a patient and understanding forever home. This sweet girl has had a rough start in life and is now seeking a calm and loving environment where she can learn to trust and thrive.Twinkie would thrive in a calm, quiet home with owners who have experience with under socialized dogs, and are familiar with dog behavior. Someone who is willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and confident is a must, as she is fearful, anxious and skittish, likely due to under socialization, and limited positive human interaction in the past. She is currently on medication to help manage her anxiety, and her new family may need to continue this treatment under the guidance of their Veterinarian. A home without other pets would be best, at least initially, to allow her to adjust at her own pace. A home with a secure, fenced yard where she can safely explore and play would be very beneficial for her special needs.Despite her challenges, Twinkie has shown incredible resilience and a desire to connect with people. If you have the patience, understanding, and commitment to help Twinkie overcome her fears and become the loving companion she's meant to be, please consider opening your heart and home to her. Your love and support can make all the difference in the world to this special dog.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Fawn Weight: 20.1 Age: 2yrs 3mths 0wks

*Buster is not quite ready to be adopted, and we are currently searching for someone who is willing to go through a Foster to Adopt trial, as his situation and behavioral issues are so complex**Local applicants only - up to two hours away will be considered*Meet Mr. Buster, a sweet but timid soul looking for a patient and understanding forever home. This precious guy has had a ruff start in life, with little to no positive human interactions before finding refuge at our shelter. As a result, Buster is fearful and nervous, lacking confidence and struggling to adjust to the world around him.Despite his past, Buster shows a glimmer of hope and trust, especially towards men, with whom he feels more comfortable. This suggests that with the right approach and environment, Buster has the potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion.Buster Bar is seeking a quiet home with patient and experienced adopters who can provide a structured routine and gentle guidance to help build his confidence. We believe a household with a quiet, confident dog his own size could provide him with the companionship and comfort he needs to continue to build his confidence. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a dog in need, Buster is ready to learn what love and kindness truly mean. **Buster is currently on a long-term anxiety medication and potential adopters should be prepared to continue to work closely with their vet regarding this**If you think Buster could be a good fit for you, please contact the Kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/ Primary Color: Red Brown Weight: 22.3 Age: 5yrs 3mths 0wks

Are you looking to start a band? Do you need a lead vocalist? Look no further....meet Albus, the singing Doodle mix! 🎤 This 1.5 year old boy weighs approximately 45 pounds and while we find his singing hilarious, we tell Albus he's the best we've ever heard! 😍 Albus says "yes" when it comes to dogs! Big or small, Albus loves to play and is friendly and respectful. He would do best in a home with dog savvy older kids who love to hang out. While he hasn't been tested with cats, his friendly personality suggests he would do well so slow introductions would be best. Albus has made huge progress with his foster family in just a few short weeks. He's learning to trust his humans and has started to bop them with his nose when he seeks attention. 🥹 Part of Albus' handsome and mysterious allure comes from his quirky eyebrows. It may seem like he's constantly judging you but rest assured, he's got a heart of gold! 💛 Albus loves going for walks and pulls when excited. This smart boy will get the hang of it in no time with guidance and direction. Albus is fully potty trained and goes to the door when he needs out. He does well in his crate even though it's not his favourite place to be. If his foster brother is near, Albus will settle easily. ☺️ Albus loves to chew and leashes seem to be a favourite chew toy. Since he's been introduced to dog toys, Kongs and bones seem to be a hit. Albus also enjoys massages....must be the way he winds down after a day of singing. 😂 Liver flakes and cheese are high on his list of must haves and he enjoys trying new foods with a sniff test first. Albus would love to find a forever family of his very own, especially if there is another confident and kind dog who can help build his confidence and show him the ropes. This sweet boy is learning what fun and adventures are all about. So if you're on the hunt for a singing partner, don't wait to meet Albus. Apply today! 💙

Story
Hi there, my name is DIDI but I also fit the name Romeo as I greatly love to cuddle with kind humans. I am part poodle (which means that I likely don't shed.) I am a young guy of about 2 and a half years old, I weigh about 19 lbs, and my height at the shoulder is 14 inches. Let me tell you a bit about my history. I was dropped off at a terrible shelter by my human when they thought that I was not a cute puppy any more. The shelter was awful and I was miserable there. The caretaker used a pressure washer on everything, including us dogs! The food was mouldy in the food tray and the water buckets had worms swimming in them. When the caretaker was drunk, he would even beat us dogs with a shovel. There were many dog fights and several of the dogs died in those battles. We were all so afraid there, especially those of us on the smaller side. One of the really nice women who volunteered there to care for us took me with her to her shelter and after a brief wait there, I was lucky enough to be taken onto a flight to come to Canada. My temperament is very easy going and I am a quiet dog as well. I love to meet humans, dogs, and even cats. My energy level is moderate and I even have some leash skills. I am very close to being house-trained as well. I have been around children and I am very comfortable with them too.  Don't I sound like the perfect dog? If you meet me, you'll see that I am a gentle soul with a playful and kind temperament who is seeking my new forever family. Maybe that's you?.... I am immunized, microchipped, and neutered. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2013304##

Story
Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience.  Hi. My name is OGOPOGO (Bobo) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Tibetan Terrier/Poodle mixAge: 1 - 1/2 yrsGender: maleWeight: 18 kgHeight: 50 cmHighlight(s): very active, clever, snuggly I'm quite the energetic and playful fellow, hoping you like lots of exercise and fun.I was stolen by a drug addict from my original owner here in the Middle East. My rescuer had to buy me from him. She placed lots of ads to find my family, but nobody came forward. If you love cuddles, I am just the dog for you. I probably need a person all to myself, as I am a bit jealous. While I am good with female dogs, not so much with other males. So, probably best as an only fur-child. I also don't care for cats and go after them. I tend to be anxious about being left alone, so best if I have a person around most of the time. I am very clever and will wait by the washroom door for you to come out. I'm good with kids 8 and older too.I do have a lot of energy that needs to be expended each day. If not, I tend to chew. So toys are a must. I go through them pretty quickly.A home with a high fenced yard is rather a necessity for me. I can jump easily jump a 4-1/2 foot wall. I'm great in the car, but make sure I am restrained, so I don't jump out. You see, I am very curious. So I will also wander out an open door, so you must be vigilant. I am quite good on leash though and need some decent walks and playtime to wear down the hyper. Ha. A jogging buddy would be excellent.I am a very loyal boy who will make a great companion for someone active. See, nothing mysterious here, just a normal active boy.  More videos to come. Energy Level: high to very high I get along with:Dogs: yes and no, mostly females ok, no malesCats: noKids: yes Fears: Being left alone. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: someLeash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: a bit. Please be prepared to help me learn! With regular walks, I will pick up quickly where to do my business. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. [MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1725141##
