Meet Suzie Q!This petite poodle mix has come a long way since arriving at the shelter as a scared, underweight stray. Unclaimed and unsure of the world around her, Suzie Q needed time to feel safe—and while she’s still a bit nervous with new people, her true personality shines through once she learns to trust you! With a little patience and kindness, Suzie Q blossoms into an incredibly loyal and loving companion. She forms strong bonds with her people and is happiest right by your side, soaking up comfort and companionship. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly follow you from room to room, just happy to be near someone she trusts.Suzie Q can be very fearful of other dogs and prefers to keep a wide bubble of personal space unless it is on her terms. Because of this, she may do best as the only pup home for now - she may be able to coexist with another easygoing and friendly dog after a proper, slow introduction but we think she would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention, and her new family can focus on giving her the time and space she needs to build confidence and feel secure.We think Suzie Q will thrive in a calm, understanding home with someone who can move at her pace and continue showing her that the world isn’t such a scary place. In return, she’ll offer unwavering loyalty and a truly special bond.If you have a gentle heart and a little patience to spare, Suzie Q just might be your perfect match!
