Please read all of the desciption before reaching out to us. Emma’s story began in the mountains near Guffey, Colorado, where she was found alone deep in the woods. Despite extensive efforts to locate her owners, no one came forward, and we believe she may have been abandoned. When Emma was rescued, she was severely underweight, suffering from hookworms, and her coat was so badly matted that she had to be shaved down. Thankfully, those difficult days are behind her. Now healthy and thriving, Emma is ready to start the next chapter of her life with a family who will love her forever. Emma is a beautiful young Poodle mix, estimated to be around one year old. Even with her shaved coat, her unique coloring shines through—soft brown ears, a gray body, and cream-colored chest and legs. Her long tail had to be shaved as well, but her gorgeous coat will grow back with time. At approximately 60 pounds and now at a healthy weight, Emma is a sweet, gentle soul with a loving personality. She lives with several small dogs in her foster home and gets along wonderfully with them. She enjoys meeting new people and dogs and is always happy to make a new friend. While house training was a challenge at first, Emma has made great progress and continues to improve every day. She loves to play, run, and explore, and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and, ideally, a canine companion. She would also love an adopter who is home often and excited to include her in daily adventures. Emma can be a little sensitive at times and occasionally flinches when approached suddenly, suggesting she may not have always been treated kindly in the past. Despite this, she remains incredibly affectionate, trusting, and eager to bond. She loves being petted and will happily follow her person from room to room like a loyal shadow. For a young dog, she has a wonderfully balanced temperament—not overly hyper, just happy to be near the people she loves. Emma has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and is fully ready to find the loving home she deserves.
