Story
Meet Ethel, an almost 4-year-old, 53-pound Doodle who has made incredible strides during her time in foster care. This sweet girl may still be naturally timid and skittish, but she has blossomed into a gentle companion who accepts pets, takes treats ever so gently, and is learning that the world is a pretty safe place. Once Ethel bonds with you, she becomes your quiet little shadow. She loves simply being near her people, making her an especially wonderful work-from-home companion. She’s happy to curl up nearby while you work, keeping you company without demanding much more than a little love. Ethel walks nicely on a leash and is working on her “sit” and “down.” She’s also crate trained and loves having her crate as a cozy, safe place to retreat. And when she’s ready to have some fun, Ethel enjoys playing with other dogs and gets along well with both small and large canine friends. Ethel will need a quiet, patient home without small children where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. She may take a little time to fully trust her new family, but once she does, you’ll have a loyal, loving companion who simply wants to be by your side. If you have the patience to let a shy girl blossom, Ethel is ready to show you just how special she can be. Ethel’s minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Oliver, a 5-year-old Labradoodle weighing 58 pounds. This happy boy may be a little shy when you first meet him, but he seems to warm up quickly once he gets comfortable. And if you happen to have some treats handy, you've got his attention—Oliver was the perfect little model during his photo session! Oliver reportedly knows to go to the door when he needs to go outside and is house-trained, though he'll likely need a little grace and patience as he learns the routine in a new home. He already knows "sit" and seems eager to please when treats are involved. We were told Oliver has done well with children 8 and older. We don't yet know how he is with dogs or cats, so those introductions will need to be handled thoughtfully. If you're looking for a sweet, happy companion who may take a moment to warm up but is ready to become your best friend, Oliver could be the perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
