Story
Here comes Navy, a Poodle mix born approximately November 2022, who is ready for their second chance! Navy is checking out his new foster home and meeting their foster family. We’ll share updates as we learn more about their personality and furever needs! The suggested adoption donation for Navy is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1874988##

Story
Simba (neutered male)3 years - Standard Poodle (70lbs)Adopted and returned after a couple months due to behavior Simba has been at the shelter since April and is due to his past bad experiences of being crated for long periods of time - that's manifesting as barrier frustration today. That means when people approach the gate of his kennel he reacts by barking or showing signs of aggression. This can happen with shelter dogs because they kept alone in extremely barren environments virtually around the clock with little stimulation or social interaction and they become frustrated. Simba needs an experienced dog person willing to work with him to overcome his past trauma. Someone is firm and not scared of him. Seeking an adult only home without other pets.Available to adopt, foster or foster-to-adopt. Located in Maryville, Missouri._____From original owners:Lately he has been showing more reactiveness towards my special needs daughter. He has been fixed hoping that would help, but it has not. My boyfriend has two small kids, and I am nervous to have Simba around them so he is kenneled way more than I would like. I have also been working more and being in school again makes it hard to spend the time with him that he deserves.Described as active - affectionate - playfulLived inside - Moderate energyCons: Chases - Chews (was getting better, but would chew on things) - Jumps on peoplePros: Housebroken - Crate trained - Walks on leash - Playful - Went through obedience trainingKnows sit - stay - down - leave it - shakeLikes to chew toys especially squeaky onesGood w/ women, menFair w/ children (better with older children)Bad w/ other dogs and cats (wants to bark at both)Other notes:Knows shake, room, sit, stay, off, no, stopLoves playing with water, balls, ropeLoves car rides Adoption Fee: $50 (until 12/31)Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations and microchipping.---Learn more about the adoption process and download our questionnaire at https://www.newnodawayhumanesociety.org/adopt
