Story
Cookie is a cute 25 pound 21-month-old sweet dog with a lovely personality. She's potty trained, doesn't shed, she can go on long walks or be active or chill and nap at home. Cookie is friendly with kids and dogs, she did fine with cats when introduced. She loves to be with her people and would really like somebody who isn't away from home all day. Cookie has struggled with pancreatitis, so her previous vet advised that she remain on a special diet that contains less than 10% fat. (Gastrointestinal Biome Hills Prescription Diet)* Cookie's adoption fee is $250.00. If you are interested in meeting her, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.foreverhomedogs.orgAll adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Chad is a super friendly pup from the Crazy Day Litter, born in June 2025.  He gets along with dogs, cats, strangers and kids.  He does pretty well on a leash with a harness - he would LOVE to be with someone who takes him on a daily walk.   Chad knows some commands - sit, shake and how to lie down.  He does well if he's focused.  Chad is vocal when he's trying to communicate and has a very deep bark.  He doesn't like to be alone and he tends to bark louder if he's outside by himself.  Chad will be right back at the door to come in after he goes outside alone. The perfect home for Chad will have a fenced yard.  He would be okay with kids, but they should be older (age 6+) due to his size and energy.  He might thrive with a puppy playmate that can match his energy.  He gets overly excited sometimes. Chad will need someone committed to help with potty training.  He doesn't like to be kenneled, but will need to be until he is completely house trained. Chad is such a sweet boy and just needs a family with time to devote to his ongoing training.  He's still a young guy and is adjusting to being left alone in the house.  He'll also benefit from someone having at home most of the time - at least until he has everything figured out!   The Rottweiler Poodle mix is a highly intelligent dog that is great for families with children. The Rottle is a superior protector who is loyal to their family and eager to please. The Rottle is generally undemanding and family-orientated.   The suggested adoption donation for each puppy is $575, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2486521##

Good with cats,
Story
Hi, I’m Tango — an 8-year-old Goldendoodle with a golden heart, a goofy grin, and a deep passion for belly rubs, road trips, and balls (especially the squeaky kind). In September 2023, I suffered a spinal stroke that left my back legs paralyzed. My family loved me so much, but they knew I needed more care than they could give, so in April 2024, they entrusted me to the amazing team at APL and that’s when my comeback story really began. Since then, I’ve made incredible, unexpected progress. With regular rehab, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and lots of encouragement, I’ve gone from scooting to walking with help, and sometimes even on my own! I can cruise around with and without my custom wheels like a champ, especially if there’s a ball to chase or an adventure to be had. And speaking of adventures….I’ve recently made a pretty big move. I’m now living in Colorado at a canine health resort alongside other differently-abled dogs like me. I get to soak up the fresh mountain air, continue my therapies, and spend my days building the sweetest friendships. It’s been such a special experience, and I’m thriving here. I’m still available for adoption through my rescue, and we’re hoping this new chapter helps me meet even more people, maybe even "my" people. The more folks who hear my story, the better the chance that someone out there knows exactly where I belong. Back to the fun stuff! I’m always ready to go. I love car rides, public outings, strolls through the park, and pretty much anywhere my people are headed. I’ll happily roll up to a brewery, hop into a café, or join you for a sunny patio lunch. I’m not picky, as long as I’m included. I also happen to be the world’s most enthusiastic ball-chaser. I may have some mobility challenges, but if there’s a ball in play, you better believe I’m going after it. I’ve got a mean fetch game and determination like no other. People are my other favorite thing. I’m incredibly social, gentle, and friendly with everyone I meet (kids, adults, other dogs…) I’m just happy to be part of the fun. I don’t chew things I shouldn’t, and I’m always ready to cuddle. I do need a little help with potty time a few times a day, but I’ve even started doing that more on my own lately. My team will show you the ropes and it’s easier than you might think. I'm looking for a family that sees beyond my different abilities and appreciates my incredible spirit. A household that’s patient, loving, and ready to welcome me just as I am. I promise to reward you with boundless love, endless joy, and a companionship that runs deep. If you're looking for a loyal, loving sidekick with a story of resilience, a wag that never quits, and a suitcase packed for life’s next big adventure, I’m your guy. So, what do you say? Want to roll through life with me? Tango is up to date on vaccinations, 4DX tested, microchipped, and neutered. He will come with all his cool gadgets so you can easily take him along on adventures. Applications to meet Tango can be submitted at: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs
