Thanks to that little mix-up, you get the sleek athleticism and fierce loyalty of a Doberman combined with the brilliant brains and low-shedding coat of a Poodle. Basically, I’m a custom-built designer dog, minus the boutique price tag! I am looking for a family or human who loves a dog with a big personality and a bigger heart. A secure yard to stretch my long legs would be amazing, along with someone who loves interactive play and brain games as much as I do. In return, I promise endless snuggles, zero personal space respected (in the best way possible), and a lifetime of devotion. Grrrr….. wait…. no……. ummm…. How did my foster mom say I’m suppose to say hello? Grr..hello, no….. Hi! My name is KoKo and I’m so excited to meet you. I am a 12.5 pound miniature poodle. My foster momma says I’m one of the smartest dogs she’s ever met, but I need to work on my manners. I don’t have a clue what she’s talking about. Isn’t growling a proper way to let someone know you like them and want to meet them? Back at the end of July my whole world got turned upside down. My beloved mom and dad of 2 years could no longer care for me. Let me tell you something, they loved me so much and according to my foster mom spoiled me a little too much because she says I have some naughty behaviors. Back to that terrible day. I was so scared and confused I lashed out to the shelter staff by growling and trying to bite them. I truly meant no harm. I was just scared and had learned if I growl and snap things I don’t like happening stop. Thankfully the shelter director knew of foster mom and knew she would take a chance on me and take me home to foster. The day she picked me up was one of the best days of my life. While I’m still living with other dogs and cats her home is quiet and the best part is she lets me sleep in the bed with her, one of my most favorite activities. I was on my best behavior for about a week, before I let the first growl slip. I truly meant no harm. I was just tired and didn’t want to be moved over on the bed. My new momma told me that was unacceptable behavior and we had to practice being moved without biting. My foster momma took me to meet with a dog trainer and we have lots of things we are working on. According to the trainer I’m a pushy dog who lacks confidence and have learner growling gets me my way. I disagree, but whatever. We still apparently have to work on my growling. If you’ve got an empty lap, patience, and a willingness to continue on with my training fill out an application to me you. KoKo is house trained and crate trained, but can be reactive in his crate. He gets along great with both cats and dogs and would like flourish in a home with a dog his size to play with. He enjoys walking on a leash and napping the day away on the couch. Because he does growl and snap he needs a home with kids over the age of 12. One of the conditions of his adoption is going to be, being willing to enroll him in training classes with a dog trainer so his forever family can continue working with him on his growling. He will also require daily brushing and grooming visits every 6-8 weeks to keep his hair from matting.

Loula is a 5 year old, Great Pyrenees mix (we believe she is a Pyradoodle!) at only 50ish lbs who is being surrendered to GRRAND as her family tells us: "We are relocating to a larger city where we will not have the outdoor space or time to care for her properly. She currently has a large yard to play in, and she will not have that when they move." She should go to a home with no small children as her current home has them and we are told: " While we do have children, she likes to herd/follow small children and it does cause her to be stressed and not settle down when multiple kids are running around, and she does not like it when they are around while she is eating."  Loula is crate-trained and sleeps in it at night and needs plenty of activity to keep her busy. She will need a home with a fenced in yard so she can hang out and play. Our GRRAND volunteer who hangs with Loula in the GRRAND play yard tells us: "We were back in our field today with Miss Loula, who has recently had a second grooming and is looking even more beautiful. Loula is a Goldendoodle mix and she is great fun. She has a great sense of humor and likes to run like a gazelle while having a ball thrown for her, but she also loves to sit and be petted. She knows basic commands, including recall upon hearing her name. This girl needs to put some weight on her bones, but she is looking better everyday. It's always a great time with Loula!"
