Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Anna is a bright, happy, people-loving girl with a heart as big as her personality. She’s incredibly sweet and smart, eager to learn, and always excited to be part of whatever her people are doing. When playtime is over, Anna’s favorite place is right next to you while you relax in a chair, soaking up pets and affection. She truly loves being close to her humans. Anna has a fun mix of energy and calm — she enjoys bursts of running, fetching, playing with toys, and splashing around in the water, followed by mellow downtime where she’s content just hanging out. She’s affectionate, gentle, and even-tempered, making her a wonderful companion for an active household that also enjoys cuddle time. She does well with children (best with kids over 10 since she can get excited and may accidentally knock over smaller kids), adult men and women, and both big and small dogs. Anna would love another dog in the home to run and play with, but she would also do well with an engaged family who gives her daily activity and attention. She is not cat-friendly and will chase cats, so a cat-free home is needed. Anna has basic training and is leash trained, crate trained, and does well in the car. She’s eager to please and learns quickly, though she will need continued work on not jumping up when greeting people — she just gets so excited to say hello. When people come to the house or there’s activity outside, she may bark, and she will bark briefly in her kennel for a few minutes before settling down. She came from a family who loved her but had too many dogs for apartment living, and she’s adjusted well in foster care. Anna is a people dog through and through and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day to give her the companionship she craves. Anna is a joyful, loving, playful girl who wants nothing more than to be included, exercised, loved on, and part of a family. With a little guidance and a lot of affection, she’ll be an amazing lifelong companion! Anna is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 02/07/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
