Meet Daisy! 🐾 Sometimes, finding your forever home takes a second try, and sweet Daisy is hoping her next chapter is just around the corner! Daisy is an approximately 5-month-old scruffy little sweetheart, believed to be some kind of Schnauzer or Poodle mix. She originally came to us as a stray puppy and stole hearts so quickly that she was adopted before she was even officially available! Unfortunately, despite how much her family adored her, the resident cat was having a difficult time adjusting to life with an energetic puppy. Daisy wasn’t doing anything wrong—she was simply being a happy, playful, rambunctious youngster! Her family made the heartbreaking decision to bring her back in hopes of finding a home that would be a better fit for everyone. And they had nothing but wonderful things to say about her! Daisy was making great progress with both house training and crate training. She rides nicely in the car, walks well on a leash, and has been around children, dogs, and cats with positive experiences. She’s friendly, affectionate, playful, and remarkably adaptable to new experiences. She’s never met a stranger, and her enthusiasm for life is absolutely contagious! Now, it’s important to remember that Daisy is still very much a puppy—and a high-energy one at that! She’s going to need a family prepared for all the joys and challenges that come with raising a young dog. That means continuing her house training, reinforcing good manners, providing plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment, and teaching her how to settle when playtime is over. She’s smart, eager, and full of potential, but she’s not going to raise herself! While Daisy has done well around other animals, her enthusiasm may be overwhelming for more reserved pets. Any introductions should be thoughtful and supervised, with everyone given the space and time they need to adjust. Daisy’s first adoption didn’t work out, but it certainly wasn’t for lack of love or because she was a bad dog. Sometimes even wonderful dogs and wonderful families aren’t quite the right match. Daisy is a happy, scruffy, enthusiastic little ray of sunshine who just needs someone willing to embrace puppyhood and help her become the amazing adult dog we know she can be.
