Heartworm Test: negative Adoption Fee: $100.00 Misc. Information: Teddy was brought to the shelter as a stray originally. His owner later called and wished to sign him over as his health just didn't allow him to care for him like he needed. Teddy is from a breeder who is no longer in business and unfortunately acts like it. He is a totally sweet guy who is scared to death of the outside world. We guess that he was probably used for breeding which meant that he was more than likley just kept in confinement and not exposed to anything other than the breeding world. Once these dogs get to a certain age and no longer good for breeding, they are generally given away. Once out in the real world they don't know how to act are terrified due to never ever being exposed to it. What Teddy needs is a calm and relaxed home with someone who is patient and willing to allow him to learn what a family and love is. Teddy will also require regular grooming to help keep is coat from matting up and help keep it clean. He is also going to require routine dental care on a regular basis for the remaining teeth that he has. The shelter provides a 5-day health guarantee for adopted animals. This includes health conditions not present or known about by the shelter at the of adoption, which adopter becomes aware of within 5 days. Injuries or accidents that occur at the adopter's home are not covered. The shelter is not responsible for incurred costs from local veterinarians due to non-compliance. ALL adoptions are final! Animals can be returned to the shelter for any reason, however, there are NO refunds or exchanges.
