Thank you for your interest in Cesar. He is a handsome, three year old standard poodle who is just about as sweet as can be. He is fun and happy and loves to run and when you meet him you'll wonder how he ever landed up in a rescue, but we can tell you more about that. You see, Cesar was in a Quebec shelter. He moves a little bit funny and he sometimes will want to keep items away from you and these things are not great attributes for a shelter dog. The vet assessed him as having mild hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. Poor boy was set to be euthanized because shelters are full and who would want a broken poodle? We do!!! The shelter called SPIN to ask if we could help and we couldn't say no! He's easy to work with and he's smart so we've been having all kinds of fun with him. We love him and we know you will too.

Thank you for your interest in Katey. When we received the call to help a standard poodle with sebaceous adenitis we didn't know what to expect. When untreated the disease can be very uncomfortable for the dog and when Katey came into our care we were able to see that she was uncomfortable. Her skin was all exposed - all her hair was gone - and she had some scabs on her. We took her to the vet to confirm the diagnosis and then started treating her right away and what a difference it made. Her skin cleared up and we are just starting to see the beginning of some hair growth. And she is so happy!

Thank you for your interest in River. River came to us from an owner who got him from somewhere in the USA. He arrived so fearful that the owner didn't really know what to do with him so he, and another dog, were kept in a shed with an attached yard. The owner didn't interact with them much and River thought that was absolutely fine. People are scary, the world is scary and he was comfortable in his little part of the world. Well, things changed the day River came to SPIN.

Thank you for your interest in Chanel. How a girl can be so sweet when her life was so miserable before coming into SPIN's care, is beyond our belief. You would have cried if you had seen her, and smelled her, when she came to us. You see, we received a call that a puppy mill was finished with a poodle and we could have her if we wanted her. If we didn't, they would just kill her. Yes, that is how cruel the world of commercial breeding can be. We had a wonderful volunteer jump in the car and race to pick up this dog and that is how we met Chanel.
