Meet Baxter! Baxter is a lovable Poodle mix who found himself at our shelter through no fault of his own and is now ready for a fresh start. He’s an active, playful, and lovable pup who brings a lot of fun wherever he goes. He’s open to meeting other dogs, cats, and savvy kids, making him a wonderful candidate for many types of homes.If you`re interested in meeting Baxter, he is located at the Pennsylvania SPCA Danville Center on Bloom Rd. We are open daily from 12:00-6:00pm and no appointment is needed. Please bring everyone who lives in your home and any current dogs with proof of up to date vaccinations. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Gingerbread is cautious and requires time to build trust before revealing her softer side. Once trust was established, she craved attention but remained careful. She managed well with husbandry handling but struggled with sudden sounds and everyday objects, often seeking support.Gingerbread walked well on a leash, was attentive indoors, but showed little interest in food. She understood the cue `sit,` responded well to redirection, and had reasonable recall. While hesitant with toys and play, she didn`t avoid them.
