After coming to CAWS as a stray from a local shelter, Ruben has truly blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion who delights in his people and his daily adventures.Ruben is the kind of dog who makes you feel special. When he sees his human, he lights up instantly, hopping with excitement and leaning in for cuddles and attention. Once he bonds, he becomes a devoted little shadow who wants nothing more than to be close to the person he loves. He is incredibly sweet, deeply affectionate, and happiest when he is near his people.Despite being a senior, Ruben has impressive energy and curiosity. Walks are one of his greatest joys. His happy zig-zag trot and enthusiastic pace bring a sense of fun to every outing and make even a short walk feel like an adventure worth savoring.Ruben has made remarkable progress in his foster home, especially with resource guarding. With consistent routines, clear boundaries, and calm support, he has improved tremendously and continues to grow every day. He went to an adoption event at the expo center and did great with all the kids/people. He likes other dogs, but prefers people. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there! I’m Babs Bunny — yes, like Bugs Bunny’s name twin, and I can hop almost as high too! I’m a 15-pound, 1 year old girl who might be a mix of poodle, schnauzer, and Australian shepherd. What I know for sure is that I LOVE toys. Toss one for me and I’ll happily chase it again and again. I also adore running zoomies and playing chase with my foster sister in the yard. If you’ve got a fenced space (6 feet or taller, please — I’ve got springs in these legs!) that would be amazing. If not, an active person who’s up for indoor fetch works too. I just really like to move! I’m crate trained, sleep like an angel through the night, and I’m well behaved in my little den. I’m also house trained when I’m kept on a schedule. I do still have puppy energy, so I’d love a family willing to help me keep learning my manners and boundaries. The good news? I’m super motivated by affection and praise, so training with me can be really fun. When I meet new people, I might hang back for a minute to make sure everything feels okay. But once I know you? Oh boy — I’ll be climbing right into your lap for pets. After I’ve had my exercise, I turn into a total cuddle bug. Being near my humans is my favorite place to be - so I can also entertain myself with a good chew or my favorite toy while you while you relax nearby.  I’m pretty, and I know it — which means my coat needs regular brushing to keep it from matting. Luckily, I don’t mind being brushed much at all. If you’re looking for a happy, bouncy, playful girl who will make you laugh, keep you active, and then snuggle up close at the end of the day, I’m your bunny… I mean, girl.
