Story
Y’all! If you like your dog to be stunning, petite, polite, and friendly meet Kimmy, she is actual perfection! This girls coat looks like she is walking straight out of a Pantene commercial. We are talking- gorgeous rich color, shiny, soft, wavy… we weren’t jealous of a dogs coat though, nope. Kimmy is incredibly loving and people friendly so even if you can’t have gorgeous locks like her, you will get to enjoy them when you snuggle and pet her. Petite doesn’t quiet capture her itty-bitty frame, this girl is near fully grown at 22 lbs. We don’t expect her to get much bigger though she will fill out a bit, likely settling in around 30lbs. Given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed or age and her breed truly has us wondering. All observations point to Poodle and black lab. When you get the DNA results, let us know. For us, there isn’t much more to say- she is petite perfection!
Kimmy is a loving sweetheart who is ready to snuggle and share a few soft kisses with out it overwhelming you. She will never overwhelm you with her presence. We all were impressed by her combination of a bit shy but also quiet comfort. When we introduced her to a handful of new dogs she was shy but has good doggie manners, making her easy company. Overall, we didn’t see an overly playful side of her, she isn’t going to start the play-session but she will hop in here and there. We would describe her as moderately energetic—up for a play session, a hike or a nice walk, but just as happy snuggling on the couch. She’s shown she can keep up with a lower- to medium-energy canine friend, especially one who isn’t too pushy, as she has a gentle approach to her canine companions. She will be a wonderful addition to any pack but she would also be perfectly content being a one-and-only dog if that is what you are looking for. Her young, ready to learn and experience energy makes her great for someone looking for a solid companion dog that enjoys both adventure and downtime.
Kimmy will enjoy walks and is easy to handle on leash, which makes getting your steps in together that much easier. She may occasionally want to slow down to soak up the sites or meet a passer by but she is easy to keep moving when needed. Although she is adaptable, growing and learning, she would love a calmer environment. It is easy to imagine her out of town with a little space and front porch to sit and watch the world go by. Whether you have other dogs or not, Kimmy will be happy. The best connections for her were with mid to low energy dogs that are not pushy about play or rush to be best-friends. When introduced to our growing house kitty she was incredibly polite. She was curious but stayed respectful of his boundaries and we would say she is cat-tolerant, with guidance she could easily have a feline friend.
She may be growing and learning but her gentle presence and personality are at the core of what makes her special. Kimmy is going to make a wonderful addition to a family or an individual seeking the companionship of a loyal, loving little lady, and she is ready for adoption!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
