Story
Meet Chalino, a lovable Schnauzer/Lab mix with a big heart, a happy spirit, and the sweetest way of asking for affection. This handsome guy is looking for a family with a little more time to enjoy all the love he has to give. Chalino’s Story Chalino was adopted as a cute little puppy, but his owner’s work schedule became too demanding. Because he spent long hours away from home—and couldn’t safely bring Chalino along in a work truck during hot weather—his owner made the difficult, loving decision to find him a home where he can have more companionship and attention. A friend also gave Chalino a chance, but had the same issue: long workdays and not wanting to leave this sweet boy alone all day. Chalino has done nothing wrong. He simply deserves a home that has more room in its routine for walks, cuddles, playtime, and being included as part of the family. His Personality Chalino is a sweet, affectionate, lovable guy who enjoys being close to his people. One of his favorite things is hopping up beside you when you are sitting down so he can give hugs and soak up attention. He has that wonderful, warm personality that makes a house feel more like home. He gets along well with the other dogs in his current foster home and is comfortable using a doggy door to go in and out. Chalino already understands the comfort of a home environment and would love a family that will let him keep being a cherished indoor companion. His Ideal Home Chalino would do well with a loving person or family who can give him regular companionship and make him part of everyday life. Another friendly dog may be a nice bonus for him, since he has been doing well around other dogs. If you are looking for a sweet, handsome companion who will greet you with love, cuddle close, and happily jump up for hugs, Chalino may be your perfect match. He is ready for a fresh start—and a forever home where he will never have to wonder if there is time for him.

Story
Please read the entire profile prior to filling out an application.  Meet Simon, a 3-year-old, 25 pound Schnauzer mix.  Background : Simon  suddenly found himself without a home after his devoted owners passed away. Simon wasn’t just a pet; he was a treasured family member who was deeply loved and well cared for.  Personality : Simon is an insecure dog.  He loves women, and while it takes a little while to warm up to men, once he does, he’s all in!  Simon is an active dog and loves to play fetch, go for walks or hikes.   Simon would do best in an adult only home.  He is beginning to come around to the cat in his foster home.   As an insecure dog Simon does need another small, bossy female dog in his forever home.  Favorite Things:   Simon loves belly rubs, keeping himself occupied by playing with toys  and alerting when someone comes on the property.  Health : Simon is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Training :  Simon is housebroken, uses a dog door and knows basic commands such as “sit” and “paw”. He’s still got a few puppy habits (like play nibbling hands), so a little refresher training wouldn’t hurt. Simon is working on leash training. Adoption Requirements: Simon requires a person who has experience with insecure dogs.  Simon needs a small, bossy (alpha) female dog in his forever home. Simon would do best in a quiet adult only household. Adoption   Fee : Simon’s adoption fee is $250. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.   September 16, 2026, 11:06 pm
